How it works
After the first casting the client picks a few models and asks them back. More decision-makers often attend the second round: the creative director, the designer, someone from the brand. The model may be asked to try on specific garments, walk, or act out a short scene for an advert.
Being called back means your look is right. Now the comparison is about who wears the clothes best, moves well, communicates well and fits with the other models chosen.
A common mistake is to turn up looking different from the first time: new hair or bold make-up. The client asked back the person they saw.
In practice
After a first casting of forty models the client invites six back. The brand's creative director attends the second round. Each model tries on the campaign jacket and walks briefly. The model looks the same as the first time, natural and calm. Two days later he gets a first option.
What to watch for
- Look the same as at the first casting.
- Ask your booker what the client expects in round two.
- If you have another job at that time, tell your booker at once.

Frequently asked
01Does a callback mean I got the job?
Not yet, but you are one of a few candidates. The job is yours only once the agency confirms it.
02Are callbacks paid?
Usually not. In some markets a long fitting is paid, but not the casting itself.
