Bleach symbols

The triangle says whether you can use bleach and which kind: any, oxygen (non-chlorine) only, or none.

How to read them

  • An empty triangle – chlorine or oxygen bleach.
  • Two oblique lines inside – oxygen (percarbonate, 'oxi') products only.
  • A crossed triangle – no bleach at all, including oxygen-based stain removers.

01Is a stain remover a bleach?

Many stain removers and 'colour-safe' powders contain oxygen bleach. If the triangle is crossed, check the label: 'percarbonate', 'oxygen' or 'oxi' mean bleach.
