Women modeling agencies in Lithuania
There are 17 modeling agencies in Lithuania, 1 of them holding a state licence or a professional-association membership; 1 state that they take applications from models abroad. Below: every agency with its boards and founding year, a comparison table, and what international models need to know. We do not vouch for agencies: each profile shows what we found about it, good and bad.
Lithuania's modeling market is concentrated in Vilnius and Kaunas. Fashion agencies here act as mother agencies, developing new faces and placing them with agencies in Paris, Milan, London or Tokyo, while commercial and kids' agencies work with local advertising, online retailers and television. For most models Lithuania is the starting point: the first digitals and test shoots happen here and the contract is signed with a mother agency, while those who want to make a living from modeling usually work abroad.
Jurgita.com is owned by the Supermodels agency, which is why it is listed first in its own market, and we say so openly. Every other agency is described from public registers and the information it publishes itself.

Lithuania for international models
- EU, EEA and Swiss citizens need no work permit and no visa. You can work for up to 3 months in any six-month period without a residence document; if you stay longer, you register your right of residence with the Migration Department through its MIGRIS system.
- If you are not an EU citizen, you need a work permit from the Lithuanian Employment Service (Užimtumo tarnyba) before you start working or providing services. With the permit you may work during a visa-free stay or on a Schengen or national visa; for longer stays you need a temporary residence permit from the Migration Department. Entering visa-free or on a tourist visa does not by itself give you the right to work.
- Exception: citizens of Australia, Japan, the United Kingdom, the United States, Canada, New Zealand and South Korea do not need a work permit (Law on the Legal Status of Aliens, Article 58, point 13). Rules on length of stay still apply: staying beyond the visa-free period requires a national visa or residence permit.
- Tax: if you spend 183 days or more in Lithuania in a calendar year, you become a Lithuanian tax resident and declare your worldwide income. As a non-resident, income for work done in Lithuania is still taxed in Lithuania, and the Lithuanian company paying you usually withholds it. Before your first job, ask the agency what kind of contract it pays you under and what tax details it needs from you.
- Language: the official language is Lithuanian, but fashion agencies, photo shoots and work with international models normally run in English. TV commercials with speaking parts tend to look for Lithuanian speakers.
- Typical work: e-commerce and catalogue shoots for Lithuanian and regional brands, local advertising campaigns, social media content, TV commercials and fashion events in Vilnius. The market is small, so agencies rarely book long stays for international models, and when they do it is usually through the model's mother agency.
- Before you travel, get it in writing: a booking confirmation with your fee and image usage terms, who pays for travel and accommodation, and whether those costs will later be deducted from your earnings. A genuine agency never charges you to register or for a place on its board.

How this list is made
The list includes every agency that represents models. We check the facts on each agency's own website, in public company registers, on association member lists and in the press, and publish what we find: fees charged to applicants, schools, company status, press reports, history and memberships. We do not vouch for or recommend agencies. No agency pays to be listed and there are no rankings. Last checked: 2026-10-10.
01How many modeling agencies are there in Lithuania?
This catalogue lists 17 agencies in Lithuania, including Supermodels, Deimantės modelių agentūra, Modilinos Model Management and Baltic Model Management. It includes every agency that represents models; we do not vouch for them, and each profile shows the facts we found, good and bad.
02How much do models earn in Lithuania?
Published guide rates in Lithuania are roughly €40–90 an hour and €260–430 or more for a full shoot day, with an extra fee for image usage on advertising jobs. There is not much work locally, so most models combine it with studies, and those earning steadily usually work abroad. Rates, commission and what is left after tax are covered in detail in the jurgita.com guide "How much do models make".
03What commission do Lithuanian modeling agencies take?
Lithuania has no specific law capping commission, so it is set in your contract – usually around 20% of the fee. When you work abroad, the agency representing you there takes its commission and your Lithuanian mother agency normally receives about 10% out of that share, not on top of it. Advanced costs such as test shoots, travel and the model apartment are deducted separately and must appear on your statement.
04How old do you have to be to model in Lithuania?
Kids' boards work with very young children, while fashion agencies usually scout new faces from 14 to 16. For a child under 14 the parents sign the contract; a minor aged 14–18 signs personally but only with parental consent (Civil Code, Articles 2.7 and 2.8). Under an employment contract you can work independently from 16; a child aged 14–16 needs written consent from a parent, a medical certificate and, during the school year, the school's consent, and working hours are limited.
05Do models in Lithuania need to register as self-employed, and how is the income taxed?
Most models work under an individual activity certificate registered with the State Tax Inspectorate (VMI) and invoice the agency or client themselves. In 2026, income tax on annual profit up to €20,000 works out at 5%, rising gradually to 20% at €42,500. On top of that come social insurance (12.52%) and health insurance (6.98%) contributions on 90% of taxable profit. You can deduct 30% of income as expenses without receipts. Some clients use a copyright or service contract and withhold the tax themselves.
06What is a mother agency and how does it get you work abroad?
A mother agency is the agency in your home country that discovered you or first started working with you. It prepares you, introduces you to agencies abroad, negotiates terms and keeps track of how you are doing. Lithuanian citizens need no work permit in the EU; outside the EU the foreign agency usually handles the visa. It often prepays flights and the model apartment, but that is an advance later deducted from your earnings.
07How do I spot a fake modeling agency in Lithuania?
Warning signs: being asked to pay for registration, a place on the board or a course as a condition of representation; promises of work before anyone has seen plain photos and measurements; a 'casting' in a hotel room or private flat, or without parents; requests for lingerie photos; no company details or address; refusing to let you take the contract home. You can check the company in the Lithuanian Register of Legal Entities, and if money was taken or you were threatened, go to the police.
08Do I have to pay for a photo shoot or portfolio?
You do not need professional photos to apply: digitals taken on a phone without make-up are enough. Once an agency takes you on, it usually arranges test shoots and comp cards, advances the cost and deducts it from your earnings later – and that should be written in your contract. If you book a test yourself, in Lithuania it costs from a few dozen to a few hundred euros. Paying for a portfolio as a condition of joining is a warning sign.
09Where do model castings take place in Lithuania?
Most agencies accept applications online and hold open calls at their offices in Vilnius and Kaunas; some run annual scouting tours around other Lithuanian towns. How to prepare, what to wear and what to bring is covered in the jurgita.com guide "Model casting: how to prepare", and the open call of Supermodels, the agency that owns this site, is described in "Supermodels open call".
