Paris for international models

  • Plan your arrival around the FHCM calendar: castings start a few days to a week before fashion week, so for men January and June matter most, for women March and late September to early October.
  • For transport, get a Navigo Découverte card (€5, with your own photo) and a weekly Navigo Semaine pass (€32.40 for all zones, valid Monday to Sunday).
  • Before you travel, ask the agency to confirm in writing what the apartment, test shoots and pocket money will cost – in Paris these are higher than in many other markets and are deducted from your earnings.

How this list is made

Each agency is checked against public company registers, state licence requirements and professional-association member lists, then against its own website. Only agencies confirmed as operating are published. No agency pays to be listed and there are no rankings or reviews. Last verified: 2026-10-10.

01How many modeling agencies are there in Paris?

This catalogue lists 78 verified agencies in Paris, including Elite Paris, Karin, Viva and Metropolitan. Only agencies with a current licence or professional-association membership, or confirmed by at least two independent sources, are included.

02How many modeling agencies are there in Paris?

The catalogue lists 78. We include professional agencies with a public model board on their website: 41 have a women's board, 33 a men's board and 7 a kids' board. 48 agencies are on the SYNAM or FFAM member lists and five more show their licence number on their own website.

03When are the Paris fashion weeks?

According to the FHCM calendar, menswear runs in January and June, haute couture in January and July, and womenswear in March and from late September to early October. The next sessions are menswear on 19–24 January 2027, couture on 25–28 January and womenswear on 1–9 March 2027.

04Which parts of Paris are modeling agencies in?

Most are on the Right Bank. Of the 51 agencies whose street address we know, 13 are in the 3rd arrondissement (the Marais), 11 in the 8th near the Champs-Élysées, and 4 each in the 1st, 2nd (Sentier), 9th, 10th and 17th. Three are on the Left Bank, in the 6th and 7th.

05How can a Lithuanian model start working in Paris?

Usually through a mother agency in Lithuania, which sends digitals, measurements and a video to Paris agencies; an interested agency then invites the model for a season or a few weeks. Legal and tax questions are covered in the France guide.

06Where do models live in Paris and what does it cost?

New faces usually live in the agency's model apartment, often sharing a room, with rent deducted from earnings. Housing in Paris is expensive: the median private rent in the city is €27.30 per square metre per month before service charges. Ask the agency for the exact price in writing before you arrive.

07How do you get around between castings in Paris?

By metro, RER and bus. The easiest option is a Navigo Découverte card (€5) loaded with a weekly Navigo Semaine (€32.40, Monday to Sunday) or a monthly Navigo Mois (€90.80). All-zone passes are also valid on the RER B to Charles de Gaulle airport.

08What should I expect from my first season in Paris?

Mostly castings and go-sees, fewer jobs. The first season often ends with agency debt, because the apartment, tests and travel exceed earnings. The main results are pictures for your book, your first shows or editorials, and clients who will remember you next season.
