Where it comes from
In 1928 Irving Schott designed the Perfecto motorcycle jacket. Marlon Brando wore it in The Wild One (1953), and it became a symbol of rebellion.
Who and when it suits
It gives character to almost any outfit, from jeans to a silk dress. It suits spring and autumn, weekends and evenings.
Variations and look-alikes
It comes in black, brown or pale, in real leather, suede or faux leather, belted or not, classic or oversized. The café racer version has a straight zip and a small stand collar. It differs from a bomber in the off-centre zip and wide lapels.
