Modeling work in Valencia
Valencia is Spain's third-largest city, and our catalogue lists two agencies there. The older one is Carmen Duran Model Agency. It was founded in 1994 by Carmen Durán, who began her own modeling career in Barcelona in the 1970s. Its office is on Paseo de la Ciudadela, on the edge of the old town.
In a 2023 interview with the newspaper Las Provincias, the founder said the agency represents more than a hundred models. Most are from Valencia or are people from elsewhere who live in the city, students among them. The agency has no dedicated scout: people usually walk in themselves or are spotted by the team. According to Carmen Durán, local catwalk events take place twice a year and are not profitable, so more of the work comes from advertising and photo shoots. 5.0 Models Management was founded in 2015 by Ada Navarro, who still runs it. Its office is on Gran Vía Marqués del Turia. On its website the agency says it works in both the Spanish and international markets and draws up an individual training and image plan for each model. It has women's, men's, new faces, senior and kids boards; its application form is on its website too.

How to get started
- Take simple digitals in daylight and write down accurate measurements.
- For commercial and advertising work, the local agencies fit; for fashion work, pick a few agencies in Madrid or Barcelona and only travel once you have been invited to meet.
- Apply through each agency's official channels. A genuine agency does not charge for applying or for a casting; being asked to pay for registration or a shoot is a sign of a modeling scam.
