- Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week Madrid takes place twice a year: in 2026 on 18–22 March and 14–19 September.
- If you are 15 to 25, a monthly transport pass for the whole region costs €10; rent in the city averaged €23.40 per m² in September 2026.

Where agencies are located in Madrid
Our catalogue lists 19 agencies in Madrid, six of them members of AMAE, the Spanish association of models and agencies. The catalogue includes every professional agency with a live model board on its website; schools, sellers of paid portfolios and hostess staffing companies are left out. Fifteen agencies give an address on their websites, and they are spread as follows:
- Justicia: Chueca and Plaza de Alonso Martínez – 3. Calle Hortaleza, Calle Víctor Hugo by Gran Vía and Plaza de Alonso Martínez itself. The nearest stations are Alonso Martínez (L4, L5, L10), Chueca and Gran Vía.
- Chamberí – 3. Calle Miguel Ángel, Calle Fernando el Santo and Calle Nicasio Gallego, between Rubén Darío and Alonso Martínez stations (L5).
- Sol, Callao and Barrio de las Letras – 3. Plaza de Callao (L3, L5), Calle Carretas by Puerta del Sol (L1, L2, L3) and Calle Echegaray near Sevilla station (L2).
- Malasaña – 1. Calle San Bernardo between Santo Domingo and Noviciado stations (L2), a few minutes' walk from Gran Vía.
- Salamanca district – 2. Calle Velázquez near Retiro Park and Calle Antonio Acuña near Goya station (L2, L4).
- South-west of the centre – 3. Paseo Imperial in Arganzuela near Puerta de Toledo station (L5), Calle Doña Berenguela in the Puerta del Ángel neighbourhood of Latina (L6) and Calle de la Tórtola in Carabanchel, by Carabanchel station (L5).
The other four agencies, Dear Society, Monster Management Madrid, Platform Agency Madrid and Ralph Talents, are not placed by district. The green line L5 runs through Rubén Darío, Alonso Martínez, Chueca, Gran Vía, Callao, Puerta de Toledo and Carabanchel, so it takes you to nine of the fifteen agencies. The agencies around Chueca, Alonso Martínez and Gran Vía are within walking distance of each other.
Several Madrid agencies belong to international networks or have offices elsewhere: Next Madrid is part of Next Management, Monster Management also operates in Milan and Paris, Platform Agency in Amsterdam, and Mad Models has an office in Barcelona. Agencies by board are listed on the pages women (17), men (15), new faces (9), talent (9), kids (8), curve (3), commercial (3), sport (2) and senior (2).
Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week Madrid
Spain's main fashion week, Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week Madrid (MBFWMadrid), is organised by IFEMA MADRID with Madrid City Council. It takes place twice a year, and in recent seasons shows have been held at venues around the city as well as at the IFEMA trade fair centre.
| Season | Dates | Venues |
|---|---|---|
| Autumn–winter collections | 18–22 March 2026 | Palacio de Cibeles, Palacio de Fernán Núñez, Teatro Infanta Isabel and IFEMA MADRID Hall 14.1 |
| Spring–summer 2027 collections | 14–19 September 2026 | seven city venues, including the Palacio de Cristal de Arganzuela greenhouse, the Galería de Cristal at Palacio de Cibeles, the Universidad Nebrija campus and the Palace hotel |
| 2027 seasons | not yet announced (as of 10 October 2026) | – |
The last day of the March week was given to EGO, the platform for emerging designers, which turned 20 in 2026. The week is usually held in February or March and in September, and the dates are known once IFEMA publishes them. Under the MBFWMadrid participation rules, models must be over 16 (for younger models the designer arranges permits and insurance), every model provides a medical certificate stating they have no eating disorder, and if there is any doubt an IFEMA doctor checks that their body mass index is within the WHO healthy range. Spain's other fashion week, 080 Barcelona Fashion, took place in April and October in 2026. Dates for all the fashion capitals are in our fashion calendar.
Castings, go-sees and types of work
Before MBFWMadrid the agency sends you the next day's list of castings every evening, with addresses and times. A confirmed model goes to a fitting with the designer, and since the shows take place at different venues around the city you will be travelling between them, so plan your time around the metro. Between seasons there are go-sees with photographers, magazines and brands.
Madrid agencies in our catalogue often combine fashion with advertising and acting. Kailash Model works mainly in advertising, Wanted also represents actors and TV presenters, Agencia River represents models, actors, children and athletes, Mad Models has commercial and sport boards, and Maroe Management, founded in 1969, describes itself as one of the first artist representation companies in Spain. Some are narrower: Dear Society represents men only. So alongside the catwalk and editorials you will also find advertising, catalogue and e-commerce work. In Spain the model signs a separate employment contract with the client for each job and pays the agency a commission; how this works is explained in the Spain guide. How to prepare is covered in our guide on how to prepare for a casting.
How a Lithuanian model gets to Madrid
The usual route is through a mother agency in Lithuania. It sends Madrid agencies your digitals, measurements and an intro video, and an interested agency invites you for a specific job or a few weeks. As an EU citizen you do not need a work permit in Spain, but if you stay longer than three months you must register and get a foreigner identity number (NIE); the procedure is in the Spain guide.
You can also apply directly: 14 of the 19 Madrid agencies have an application form on their own websites. A genuine agency does not charge for applying or for a casting, and being asked to pay for registration or a book is a sign of a modeling scam. In the first days the agency may arrange test shoots; find out their cost in advance.
The apartment, costs and transport
New faces are usually given a place in a model apartment, and the agency deducts the cost from future fees as an advance. We found no reliable public figures for model apartment prices in Madrid, so ask for the weekly or monthly price in writing. As a guide, here is Idealista's rent report:
| District | Rent, € per m² a month (September 2026) | Change over a year |
|---|---|---|
| Madrid, average | 23.4 | +4.8% |
| Centro (Sol, Chueca, Justicia) | 26.1 | +2.0% |
| Chamberí | 26.0 | +3.5% |
| Salamanca | 28.5 | +5.0% |
| Arganzuela | 22.4 | +6.3% |
At the city average, a 50 m² flat would cost about €1,170 a month. Of the 52 Spanish provincial capitals Idealista tracks, Madrid is the most expensive to rent in.
Public transport
Fares for the metro, city buses and suburban trains are set by the Madrid regional transport consortium (CRTM). The 2026 fares are:
- a single metro ticket in Zone A – €1.50–2.00: €1.50 for up to five stations plus €0.10 for each extra station, up to €2.00;
- a 10-trip Metrobús ticket for the Zone A metro and EMT buses – €7.30;
- the 30-day Abono Joven pass for people aged 15 to 25 – €10, valid across the whole region;
- a 30-day Zone A pass for people aged 26 to 64 – €32.70;
- a €3 supplement is added to metro tickets for journeys to or from the airport stations.
These discounted fares apply until 31 December 2026. Passes are loaded onto a personal public transport card, so apply for one as soon as you arrive.
What to expect in your first season
- Most of your time will go on castings and go-sees. A few weeks without bookings is normal.
- The first season often ends with a negative balance: the apartment, test shoots and travel come to more than your fees. Before you travel, ask how it is repaid if your contract ends.
- Check every deduction on your model statement.
- Before each job, check where and for how long the pictures will be used: in Spain the contract lists pay for the work and payment for usage rights separately.
