How it works
Big online stores photograph hundreds of products a week, so they look for models who can work fast and accurately. Each product gets a few standard frames and often a short video of how the garment moves.
The work is repetitive but in high demand. Clients often book the same models for a long time, because customers get used to the face and figure, and the size on the model must be consistent.
Requirements depend on the brand: some need sample-size measurements, others a range of sizes. All need the model to keep the same measurements.
In practice
An online store books a model for twelve working days a season. Each day she wears 40–50 products: front, side, back and a short video. The client asks that her measurements stay the same, because every product is shown on the same figure and customers choose their size by it.
What to watch for
- Keep your measurements stable: the client books by them.
- Practise a fast sequence of poses and turns.
- Ask whether the rate is per day or per number of products.

Frequently asked
01Does e-commerce pay well?
Rates are steady and the work plentiful, so for many models it is the main income.
02Do you need experience?
It helps, as speed matters. But many models start with exactly this kind of work.
