How it works
This is where the body is most visible, so clients pay close attention to proportions, skin and tone, and the model must feel comfortable and confident. The work includes catalogues, online stores, campaigns and shows.
Boundaries matter most. Before the job the model must know which garments, which poses and where the pictures will be used, and have the right to refuse anything that was not agreed. Changing happens in a separate space.
Such work is not for minors. A reliable agency always tells you about lingerie work in advance and never pressures you to accept.
In practice
A model is offered a lingerie catalogue. The agency sends the garment list, the mood board and the usage terms in advance: catalogue and online store, no outdoor advertising. There is a separate changing area on set. When the photographer suggests a pose that was not on the board, the model declines and the shoot continues as planned.
What to watch for
- Ask for the mood board and the garment list before the job.
- In the release, state where the pictures may be used.
- If something not agreed is asked of you on set, you can refuse.
