Misfit Models
Fitzen is a small village in the state of Schleswig-Holstein, and the agency is registered here on Kleiner Weg. The title of the Misfit Models website names Hamburg and Berlin.
The agency was founded by Del Keens. Its website says the fashion photographer David Sims spotted him on a London street about 30 years ago. He worked for Calvin Klein, Renault, Levi's and Diesel, later moved to Berlin and, after working at other agencies, set up his own.
The agency stresses that its founder made his name not by matching the usual clichés but through a character of his own, and that is the kind of person it looks for. Applications go by email. The agency asks for your name, phone number and where you live, at least one photo and a short intro video, ideally in English. In the catalogue it is listed on the pages commercial and talent.
The nearest markets
- Hamburg – 30 catalogue agencies, with most of the work for catalogues, online shops and advertising.
- Berlin – 32 catalogue agencies and Berlin Fashion Week.
Contracts, commission, tax and the rules for minors are covered in the guide Modeling agencies in Germany. A genuine agency does not charge for signing you or for photos; being asked to pay is a sign of a modeling scam.
