In short
- Our catalogue lists 11 agencies in Munich: five in Schwabing, three in Bogenhausen, two in Ludwigsvorstadt-Isarvorstadt and one in Maxvorstadt.
- Five more catalogue agencies are based around Munich: in Neubiberg, Schäftlarn, Inning am Ammersee, Bad Wiessee and Thierhaupten.
- VELMA, the agency association, is registered in the city; three of the 11 agencies on its last published member list (June 2025) are from Munich.

This page covers only what is specific to Munich. Contracts, commission, tax, rules for minors and registration when you live in Germany are covered in the guide Modeling agencies in Germany.
Where Munich's agencies are
Of the 137 German agencies in our catalogue, 11 are in Munich; only Berlin (32) and Hamburg (30) have more. The catalogue lists every professional agency with a live website and model board whose core business is representing models. It leaves out model schools, sellers of paid Sedcards, photo shoots or courses, hostess and promotion staffing companies and databases where models register themselves. VELMA membership and the company's register number are shown on each profile when known.
All 11 agencies give an office address on their websites, so every one of them is placed in the table:
| District and quarter | Agencies | Nearest stations |
|---|---|---|
| Schwabing (Alt-Schwabing and Parkstadt Schwabing) | 5: Munich Models (Siegfriedstraße), viviènne model management and elenamodels.de (Ainmillerstraße), Lachfalten People (Hohenzollernstraße), MIHA modelmanagement (Eisenacher Straße) | U3, U6 Münchner Freiheit; U3, U6 Giselastraße; tram stop Kurfürstenplatz; tram stop Schwabinger Tor |
| Bogenhausen (Altbogenhausen and Parkstadt Bogenhausen) | 3: Louisa Models (Ebersberger Straße), Most Wanted Models (Bülowstraße), PARS Management (Prinzregentenstraße) | U4 Böhmerwaldplatz; U4 Richard-Strauss-Straße; tram stop Herkomerplatz; S-Bahn Leuchtenbergring |
| Ludwigsvorstadt-Isarvorstadt (Glockenbach and Klinikviertel) | 2: PS Models (Holzstraße), The Good Guys (Lindwurmstraße) | U1, U2, U3, U6 Sendlinger Tor; U3, U6 Goetheplatz |
| Maxvorstadt (Kunstareal) | 1: Tigers Management (Theresienstraße) | tram stop Pinakotheken; U3, U6 Universität |
In Schwabing the agencies are spread from Giselastraße underground station to the newer Parkstadt Schwabing quarter in the north. viviènne model management and elenamodels.de share an address on Ainmillerstraße, and Lachfalten People on Hohenzollernstraße is a few hundred metres away. In Bogenhausen, Louisa Models and Most Wanted Models are about 700 metres apart, both in the Altbogenhausen quarter on the right bank of the Isar. PS Models and The Good Guys are south of Sendlinger Tor, and Tigers Management is in the museum quarter by the Pinakothek galleries.
The oldest Munich agency in the catalogue is Louisa Models, founded in 1981 by Louisa von Minckwitz. Munich Models was founded in 1992 by Susanne Maushake, Most Wanted Models dates from 1997, PARS Management was founded in May 2011 by Peyman Amin, MIHA modelmanagement in August of the same year, and Tigers Management in September 2015 by Yong Wang. Several agencies work from two cities: Louisa Models and Most Wanted Models have offices in Hamburg, and Tigers Management also gives an address in Berlin.
All 11 agencies have a women's board; 7 have a men's board, 7 a new faces board, 4 a senior board, 4 a talent board, 3 a commercial board and 2 a curve board. You will find agencies by board on the pages women, men, new faces, senior, talent, commercial and curve. None of the Munich agencies in the catalogue has a kids board.
Agencies around Munich
Five catalogue agencies are registered in the surrounding towns instead of the city itself. Several of them tie themselves to Munich: Kleemodels says it works in the Munich metropolitan area, the owner of JAVA Model Management calls her agencies Munich agencies, and ELF Management says it was founded in Munich.
- Neubiberg: Kleemodels, a commercial agency operating since 2005. The town borders Munich to the south-east and is on S-Bahn line S5.
- Schäftlarn: JAVA Model Management, with its office in the Hohenschäftlarn part of the municipality. S-Bahn line S7 from Munich main station stops here.
- Inning am Ammersee: ELF Management, founded by Maja Kirner, which represents women.
- Bad Wiessee: Montana Models, on Lake Tegernsee south of Munich.
- Thierhaupten: MARA Models, north of Augsburg; the only one of the five with a kids board.
The other Bavarian agencies in the catalogue are in Nuremberg (3).
VELMA: the association registered in Munich
VELMA (Verband lizenzierter Modelagenturen e. V.), the German association of model agencies, was founded in 1992 and is registered in Munich; the last published version of its website gives a seat on Neuhauser Straße, in the pedestrian zone of the old town. The association's website was offline in October 2026, so everything we say about it comes from archived pages. According to the last published list (June 2025), the association had 11 members, three of them Munich agencies: Louisa Models, Most Wanted Models and Munich Models. Most Wanted Models also states its membership on its own home page, and the archived association page names Susanne Maushake, the founder of Munich Models, as a board member.
The word "licensed" in the name is historical. Private job placement in Germany has not needed a permit since 2002, so membership does not mean an agency holds a licence, and the lack of it does not mean an agency is unreliable. What the VELMA terms say about the working day, overtime and usage rights is explained in the Germany guide.
Fashion events and clients
Germany's main fashion week is in Berlin; its next edition is set for 29 January to 1 February 2027. Munich's events are smaller and geared more to the trade:
| Event | Dates | Venue and format |
|---|---|---|
| Munich Fashion Week | 5–11 August 2026 | Marriott Munich City West hotel; the organisers count 16 shows. Next date not yet announced as of 11 October 2026 |
| Supreme Women & Men München | 8–11 August 2026 | MTC World of Fashion; an order fair open to trade visitors only |
| Supreme Women & Men München | 13–16 February 2027 | MTC World of Fashion |
Supreme Women & Men has been held twice a year since 2007; the organiser's page gives figures of more than 1,200 brands and more than 9,000 visitors a year. At fairs like this, collections are shown to buyers by showroom models. Dates for all the fashion capitals are in our fashion calendar.
Mytheresa, the luxury online retailer, has its headquarters in Aschheim, just outside Munich. The company grew out of a boutique opened in central Munich in 1987 and has sold online since 2006; among its offices it also lists a photo studio in Milan. The agencies themselves say the most about day-to-day work in Munich. Most Wanted Models says it represents more than 700 models and offers them for e-commerce and catalogue shoots, runway, lookbooks, campaigns and showroom work. Kleemodels, based in Neubiberg, calls itself a commercial agency, and The Good Guys says it represents people, actors and models for advertising, commercials, photography, film and fashion. So a new face in Munich mostly goes to castings for commercial clients; we explain how to prepare in model castings: how to prepare.
How a Lithuanian model gets to Munich
The usual route is through a mother agency in Lithuania. It sends Munich agencies your digitals, measurements and an intro video, and an interested agency invites you for a specific job or for a few weeks. You can also apply directly: 10 of the 11 Munich agencies have an application page on their own website. A genuine agency does not charge for applying or for a casting; being asked to pay upfront for registration or pictures is a sign of a modeling scam.
As an EU citizen you do not need a work permit in Germany; an identity card or passport is enough. There are direct flights from Vilnius to Munich: in October 2026 the Lufthansa website listed about six a week, with a flight time of around 2 hours 5 minutes. If you only fly in for jobs and keep living in Lithuania, you do not have to register in Germany. Moving there brings a duty to register your address and other formalities; these, along with commission and tax, are explained in the Germany guide.
Housing and transport
If the agency arranges a place in a model apartment, its cost is usually deducted from your future fees as an advance. We found no reliable public data on model apartment prices in Munich, so ask for the price in writing. As a guide, the city's rent index, the Mietspiegel für München 2025, puts the average rent excluding utilities at €15.38 per m², 5.5% more than in the 2023 index (€14.58). This is an average of existing tenancies: it counts contracts signed or changed between February 2018 and January 2024. For a 50 m² flat that comes to about €770 a month before heating and other charges.
MVV tickets
The underground (U-Bahn), suburban trains (S-Bahn), trams and buses all belong to one fare network, the MVV. The whole city is in zone M, so a one-zone ticket covers travel between agencies and castings. Fares in force since 1 January 2026:
- a single ticket in zone M is €4.20, valid for two hours in one direction, with changes allowed;
- a short-trip ticket (up to four stops, no more than two of them by U-Bahn or S-Bahn) is €2.10;
- a day ticket for one person is €10.10, valid until 6 a.m. the next day; it pays off from the third trip;
- a monthly ticket for zone M is €71.40, and you choose the start day yourself;
- the Deutschlandticket is €63 a month: a subscription valid on local and regional transport throughout Germany, so it also covers the airport and the surrounding towns;
- the Airport-City-Day-Ticket is €17.50: a day ticket that includes the trip from or to the airport.
The airport is in zone 5. The S1 (through the west of the city) and the S8 (through the east) alternate every 10 minutes, and the ride to the main station takes about 40 minutes. For PARS Management the S8 is handier: it stops at Leuchtenbergring, about 500 metres from the office.
What to expect on your first stay
- Most of your time will go on castings and go-sees for commercial clients. A few weeks without bookings is normal.
- Before you travel, ask which costs the agency will pay in advance and how they are repaid; a first stay can end with agency debt.
- Check every deduction on your model statement.
- Advertising pays separately for usage rights, so before you confirm a job, ask where and for how long the pictures will be used.
