Where Dusseldorf's agencies are
Dusseldorf is the capital of North Rhine-Westphalia and the fourth-largest agency city in our German catalogue, with 10 of the 137 agencies. The catalogue lists every professional agency with a live website and model board whose core business is representing models. It leaves out model schools, sellers of paid Sedcards, photo shoots and courses, hostess and promotion staffing firms and databases where anyone can upload a profile. Each profile shows the company's register number and VELMA membership when they are known. All ten agencies give an address, and by city quarter they are spread as follows:

Stadtmitte, Pempelfort and Carlstadt are on the right bank of the Rhine, in the city centre, while Oberkassel is on the left bank, a few minutes from the centre by Stadtbahn. Gerresheim is on the eastern edge of the city and is served by the S-Bahn.
The oldest agency with a known founding year is No Toys, founded in 1990 and still run by Norbert Hansen and Sylvia Berger. Stars Model-Management has operated since 1996 and brüderchen & schwesterchen since 2006, with a second office in Berlin, while Tomorrow Is Another Day was founded by Eva Gödel in 2010. Thomsen Models says on its website that it has represented photo models, actors and presenters for more than 25 years. Thomsen Models and Sunset Models show their boards only to clients who log in, so we do not sort them by board. dopamin Management calls itself a boutique agency for men and teenagers.

Düsseldorf Fashion Days and the fashion trade
Dusseldorf has no catwalk week of the kind held in Berlin. The core of its fashion calendar is Düsseldorf Fashion Days (DFD), order days held twice a year at which brands and designers show new collections to retail buyers. The event is for the trade, and collections are presented at fairs and in showrooms: Supreme Women & Men takes place on Kaiserswerther Straße and TWODAYS at Halle 29 in Derendorf.

In summer the order days are joined by the DFD Festival, which is open to the public. On 25 July 2026 fashion shows were held on Corneliusplatz, by Königsallee, and the fair organiser Igedo Exhibitions staged eight shows during DFD, the Igedo Selected Show among them. Dusseldorf is also home to the fashion retailer Peek & Cloppenburg. Germany has two independent companies of that name, one based in Dusseldorf and the other in Hamburg. Glanz & Gloria Model Management says on its website that it has more than 100 viewable model profiles for advertising, fashion and e-commerce, so alongside fashion jobs the city offers advertising and e-commerce shoots. How a Lithuanian model gets to Dusseldorf
The usual route is through a mother agency in Lithuania: it sends Dusseldorf agencies your digitals and measurements, and an interested agency invites you for a specific job or for a few weeks. You can also apply directly: all ten agencies have an application page on their own websites. A genuine agency does not charge for applying or for a casting; being asked to pay for a Sedcard or a compulsory shoot is a sign of a modeling scam.
As an EU citizen you do not need a work permit in Germany. If you only fly in for jobs and keep living in Lithuania, you do not have to register in Germany; once you move there, you must register your address and your business. The steps are set out in the Germany guide. A model who is under 15, or still in compulsory full-time schooling, needs a permit for a shoot or a show; in North Rhine-Westphalia it is issued by the district government (Bezirksregierung), and the application must be made at least two weeks ahead.
Transport and costs
Trams, the Stadtbahn and buses in the city are run by Rheinbahn, and tickets follow the tariff of the Rhine-Ruhr transport association (VRR). Price level A applies to journeys within one city. On 11 October 2026 the Rheinbahn website listed these prices:
- a single ticket (EinzelTicket) at level A is €3.80, valid for 90 minutes with changes allowed;
- a 24-hour ticket (24-StundenTicket) at level A for one person is €7.60; each extra passenger (up to five in all) adds €5.10;
- at level B, for trips to neighbouring cities, a single ticket is €7.80 and a 24-hour ticket €15.60;
- the Deutschlandticket is €63 a month and is valid on local and regional transport across Germany, including the trip to Cologne.
A 24-hour ticket costs the same as two singles, so on a day of castings it pays off from the third journey. If you are staying for more than a few weeks, the Deutschlandticket is the cheapest option: it is a subscription you can cancel monthly. We found no reliable public data on model apartment prices in Dusseldorf, so ask the agency to state in writing the cost of accommodation and anything else it will deduct as an advance.
