In short
- Our catalogue lists 32 agencies in Berlin, more than in any other German city (Hamburg has 30). We found an office address for 28: Prenzlauer Berg has 8, Mitte and Schöneberg 4 each, and Charlottenburg 3.
- Berlin Fashion Week takes place twice a year. The next one runs from 29 January to 1 February 2027, and the summer edition on 1–4 July 2027.
- The e-commerce company Zalando was founded in Berlin in 2008 and has its headquarters here. Half of the city's agencies (16 of 32) have a talent board and 12 have a commercial board.
- A single BVG ticket for zones AB costs €4.00, a 24-hour ticket €11.20 and the Deutschlandticket €63 a month.
This page covers only what is specific to Berlin. Contracts, commission, tax, work by minors and registration in Germany are explained in the guide Modeling agencies in Germany.
Where Berlin's agencies are
Of the 137 German agencies in our catalogue, 32 are in Berlin, 30 in Hamburg and 11 in Munich. The catalogue lists every professional agency that has a live website and model board and whose core business is representing models. It leaves out model schools, sellers of paid Sedcards, photo shoots or courses, hostess and promotion staffing firms and databases where models register themselves. We found an office address for 28 of the 32 agencies, and by the addresses they give themselves they are spread as follows:
| Borough and district | Agencies | Nearest stations |

The other four agencies (clay management, eq models, Metropolis Models and Schatz Models Berlin) are not in the table because we did not find an office address for them. By borough, most agencies are in Pankow (8), Mitte (5) and Tempelhof-Schöneberg (5). The densest spot is the Kollwitzkiez quarter of Prenzlauer Berg: the offices of Seeds Management, Ego Models Management, public heroes, McFIT Models and Grand Models are within a quarter of an hour's walk of each other. Majin Mgmt and uns* model agency work at the same address on Welserstraße in Schöneberg, and Iconic Management and Today's Models are on neighbouring streets off Kurfürstendamm.
The oldest catalogue agencies in Berlin are Today's Models (since 1990), VIVA Models Berlin (1991), Seeds Management (1999) and IZAIO Management (2000). Seeds Management also has a Munich board, and Today's Models a second office in Nuremberg. Ego Models Management is the Berlin office of an agency founded in Kyiv in 2007, and Citizen Management Berlin belongs to a network that also works in Istanbul, Oslo and London. Several Hamburg agencies have an office in Berlin as well; you will find them on the Hamburg page. On the member list of the agency association VELMA, according to the association's last published list (June 2025), the Berlin agency is Today's Models; membership and the company's register number are shown on each agency profile when known.
Women's and men's boards are each held by 20 agencies, talent by 16, commercial by 12, new faces by 11, senior by 4, kids by 3, curve by 2 and sport by 1. You can browse agencies by board on the pages women, men, talent, commercial, new faces, senior, kids, curve and sport.
Berlin Fashion Week
Berlin Fashion Week takes place twice a year, in winter and in summer. It is an initiative of the Berlin Senate Department for Economic Affairs, Energy and Public Enterprises; Berlin Partner handles location marketing, and Fashion Council Germany and Press Factory are commissioned to organise and communicate it. The week has no single venue: in summer 2026, in the organisers' words, shows took place across the whole city, from Weißensee to Westend and from Tiergarten to Tempelhof.
| Season | Dates | Scale |
|---|---|---|
| Autumn/Winter 2026 (AW26) | 30 January – 2 February 2026 | 42 shows, about 30,000 visitors |
| Spring/Summer 2027 (SS27) | 2–5 July 2026 | 53 shows and 62 side events |
| Autumn/Winter 2027 (AW27) | 29 January – 1 February 2027 | next edition |
| Spring/Summer 2028 (SS28) | 1–4 July 2027 | dates announced |
Buyers from Printemps, Isetan Mitsukoshi and Antonioli attended in July 2026, and 153 public events for city residents were registered, almost 90% more than the season before. Most catwalk work in Berlin falls in these weeks, so plan your stay with the agency around their dates. Dates for all the fashion capitals are in the fashion calendar.
Zalando, e-commerce and advertising
Berlin's largest fashion client is Zalando. The company was founded in Berlin in 2008 as an online shoe shop and has its headquarters in Friedrichshain. By its own figures, together with About You it serves 62 million active customers in 29 markets and works with more than 7,000 brands. The official job profile published by Germany's Federal Employment Agency names catalogues and online shops first among a model's photo work, so in Berlin too a new face mostly goes to go-sees and castings for e-commerce shoots, lookbooks and advertising campaigns.
Berlin's agency list reaches well beyond fashion. Grand Models describes itself as an owner-run agency focused on advertising and campaigns. McFIT Models calls itself the largest sports model agency in Europe. Handmodel.Berlin has represented hand and parts models since 2017, Nest Model Management represents men only, and Indeed Model Management started as a men's agency in 2004 and now has women's, curve, senior and actors boards. The agency public heroes writes that for 21 years it has looked after more than 2,000 performers, dancers and models.
Advertising also pays for usage rights, so before you confirm a job, ask where, for how long and in which countries the pictures will be used. Our guide to preparing for model castings covers the rest.
How a Lithuanian model gets to Berlin
The usual route is through a mother agency in Lithuania. It sends Berlin agencies your digitals, measurements and intro video. If an agency is interested, it invites you for a few weeks or a season, and the mother agency helps you weigh the terms. You can also apply directly, through the form or e-mail address on the agency's website. A genuine agency does not charge for applying or for a casting; being asked to pay upfront for registration or a shoot is a sign of a modeling scam.
As an EU citizen you need no work permit. If you only fly in for jobs and keep living in Lithuania, you do not have to register in Germany; if you move, you will need to register your address and get a tax number and health insurance. All of that, along with commission and tax, is explained in the Germany guide. Berlin's BER airport is in fare zone C, so the trip into town needs an ABC ticket: a single costs €5.00.
Housing, living costs and transport
If an agency offers a place in a model apartment, its price is usually deducted from future fees as an advance; the same goes for pocket money and test shoots. Today's Models, for one, writes on its application page that test-shoot costs are normally recouped by deducting them from a model's first fee. We found no reliable public figures for model apartment prices in Berlin. One reference point is the city's official rent index, the Mietspiegel 2026, in force since 28 May 2026: its average rent excluding utilities is €7.71 per square metre a month. The index covers about 1.6 million flats and reflects the usual rents on existing contracts, while a short let or a room in a model apartment costs more, so ask for the amount in writing.
BVG tickets
The underground (U-Bahn), trams and buses are run by BVG, and the same tickets are valid on S-Bahn trains. Every agency in the table is in zones AB. At the fares in force since 1 January 2026:
- single ticket for zones AB, valid for two hours in one direction: €4.00;
- short-trip ticket (three U-Bahn or S-Bahn stations, or six bus or tram stops): €2.80;
- four-trip ticket for zones AB: €12.40;
- 24-hour ticket for zones AB: €11.20, for zones ABC €12.90;
- monthly AB ticket without a subscription: €113.00;
- Deutschlandticket: €63 a month, a subscription valid on local and regional transport across Germany. At BVG you have to order it by the 20th of the month before;
- single ABC ticket, needed for BER airport or Potsdam: €5.00.
If you come for more than two weeks of castings, the Deutschlandticket pays for itself faster than single tickets: 16 single trips already cost €64.
What to expect in your first season
- Most of your time will go on go-sees and castings for e-commerce and advertising clients. A few weeks without a booking is normal.
- Most catwalk work comes during fashion week at the end of January and the start of July.
- A first season often ends in agency debt: the apartment, tests and travel add up to more than your fees. Before you leave, ask how it is repaid if the contract ends.
- Check every deduction on your model statement.
- The most valuable result is clients who book you again, and pictures for your book.
