Modeling work in Hanover
Hanover is the capital of the state of Lower Saxony. Of the 182 German agencies in our catalogue, two are here. The catalogue lists every agency that represents models; we do not vouch for them, and each profile shows what we found, good and bad: fees charged to applicants, schools, company status and press reports.
Pretty Normal calls itself a people and model agency for advertising, film, television and photography. Its office is on Kniggestraße in the Nordstadt quarter, and it is run by Mathias and Moritz Menzel. On its website the agency says joining its file is free and its commission is 25% of the fee. Profile photos are taken free at the agency, or cost €20–25 at a partner photographer. Separately, the agency sells Sedcard shoots at €169, €269 and €369; these are optional. It has women's, men's and kids boards.
PleaseCastMe calls itself on its website a model agency based in Germany and says it started in 2015. We placed it in Hanover by its telephone prefix, because the catalogue has no office address for it. The model catalogue on its site is password protected and meant for business clients, so no boards are assigned in our catalogue. Besides fashion model, the application form offers work as a lingerie model, a nude model (18 and over), a trade fair hostess and an erotic performer (18 and over). Read the agency's profile before you apply and decide whether that direction suits you.

How to get started
- Take simple digitals in daylight and write down accurate measurements.
- Check on the agency's profile whether it charges applicants and how much, and compare it with others. Among commercial and people agencies a fee for Sedcard photos is common.
- Be wary of pressure to sign on the spot, mass castings in hotels and contracts that renew themselves: these are signs of a modeling scam.
- For fashion work, pick a few agencies in Hamburg or Berlin and only travel once you have been invited to meet.
- Contracts, commission, tax and the rules for minors are covered in the guide Modeling agencies in Germany.
