In short
- The catalogue has one agency on Bornholm out of 32 in Denmark: Bornmodels in Aakirkeby, the sole proprietorship of Patrick Schwensen since 2008 and the island's first agency according to the local press in 2010.
- We do not vouch for it. The boards show women only: 12 on the main board (174-182 cm) and 8 on the development board; applications go only through a contact form, and the site states no requirements and no fee.
- The agency is on the signatory list of the Danish Fashion Ethical Charter (as "Born Models") and has a Copenhagen office at Østergade 13.
- The site has a "Recruitment warning" section; the nearest big market is Copenhagen.
Bornmodels
Aakirkeby is a small town in the middle of Bornholm; the island lies in the Baltic Sea, closer to Sweden than to the rest of Denmark, and is reached from Copenhagen by ferry via Ystad or by air. Of the 32 Danish agencies in our catalogue, one is here. Denmark has no licence for model agencies, no register of them and no association of agencies, so the catalogue lists every business that represents models. We do not vouch for them, and each profile shows what we found, good and bad: fees charged to applicants, the company's status in the register, press reports and what the site lacks.
Bornmodels describes itself as a Danish fashion model agency founded by Patrick Schwensen that works with bookings all over the world and represents both international top models and promising new faces. The Bornholm news site Bornholm.nu wrote on 5 July 2010 that the island had got its first model agency, covering campaigns, editorials, fashion shows and TV and film roles in Scandinavia. In the copy of the Danish company register the sole proprietorship Bornmodels v/Patrick Gyldendal Schwensen (CVR 31677173) was registered on 15 September 2008 at Limensgaden 20, 3720 Aakirkeby, status normal, with 0 employees, which means the owner works alone. TV2 Bornholm, according to a search result, wrote on 5 February 2012 about a photo series the agency's director arranged with a Polish top model for the Bornholm brand Inhouse.
The site is built on Shopify, and in October 2026 it had four boards: Main with 12 named models of 174-182 cm, Development with 8 models, Image Direct and Main Direct. Every board shows women only; there is no men's board. The footer gives two addresses: Limensgaden 20 in Aakirkeby and a Copenhagen office at Østergade 13, 1., 1100 København, in the centre of the capital; in the register the business is recorded only at the Bornholm address. Applications go through a contact form; there is no application page with height or age requirements, the site mentions no fee to applicants and gives no commission rate. Ask for both in writing.
Bornmodels is on the signatory list of the Danish Fashion Ethical Charter as "Born Models". The charter binds signatories to pay for every commercial job, to send Danish models for a health check from 16, and to follow the age rule: work from 16, at 15 with a dispensation and an accompanying adult. The list carries no dates, so we do not know the year of signing. The site also has a "Recruitment warning" section: the agency itself warns about people who approach applicants in its name.
Two gaps. Denmark's e-commerce act requires a commercial website to show an e-mail address, and a contact form is not enough; the Bornmodels site shows addresses and a CVR number but no e-mail address. Second, there are no public requirements for applicants, so what the agency looks for we read from the board: women of 174-182 cm. Before you send photos, ask where the meeting will take place (on Bornholm or in Copenhagen) and who the contract is with.
Bornholm and the Copenhagen market
Bornholm has few clients: local brands, such as Inhouse in 2012, and tourism. The agency's work takes place in Copenhagen, where it has an office and where 16 of the 32 catalogue agencies are, among them Unique Models, Scoop Models, Le Management and Elite Model Management Copenhagen, whose office is on the same Østergade. Copenhagen Fashion Week takes place twice a year, in January or February and in August; every brand on the schedule must have signed the ethical charter, and Danish models must have had the charter's health check. If you are from Bornholm and a fashion career is your aim, Bornmodels is the only local route, but compare it with the Copenhagen agencies, whose sites carry requirements, open castings and boards for men.
Fake scouts
The Bornmodels warning is not idle. TV 2 reported on 5 September 2025 that fraudsters on Instagram posed as Le Management scouts to obtain intimate pictures from young people; the site of Elite Model Management Copenhagen carries a standing warning about people falsely representing themselves as its agents and a promise that its scouts never ask for payment to be recruited or for underwear pictures. If someone writes to you in the name of Bornmodels from a personal account, check the contact through the site's form and send no pictures in underwear. The signs are listed in the glossary entry on modeling scams.
Before you apply
Agencies in Denmark need no licence, so the checking is yours: the site must show the company's name, address, e-mail and eight-digit CVR number, which you can check free of charge at datacvr.virk.dk. Fees are taxed as B-income, and an EU citizen needs only a passport for up to three months. All of this is in the Denmark guide.
- Take plain digitals in daylight and write down your exact height: the board's models are 174-182 cm.
- In the form, ask where the meeting will be held and whether anything has to be paid for; the site says nothing about either.
- Before you sign, ask for the contract in writing and look in it for the commission, the length of exclusivity and the payment term. No law or association sets the commission in Denmark.
- If you are a man, there is no agency for you on Bornholm; see the Copenhagen page.
