In short
- The catalogue has one agency in Herning out of 32 in Denmark: LESS Models, registered as a sole proprietorship in photography since 2014.
- We do not vouch for it. The board had 117 profiles aged 1 to 51 in October 2026; applications by e-mail, a monthly introductory meeting, an answer within about 14 days. The site mentions no fee to applicants.
- The agency is on the signatory list of the Danish Fashion Ethical Charter (as "Less Models").
- Herning is the seat of the trade body DM&T, and Brande, 25 km away, of the BESTSELLER group; the nearest agencies are in Silkeborg and Aarhus.
LESS Models
Herning is a mid-Jutland town that grew out of the textile industry. Of the 32 Danish agencies in our catalogue, one is here. Denmark has no licence for model agencies, no register of them and no association of agencies, so the catalogue lists every business that represents models. We do not vouch for them, and each profile shows what we found, good and bad: fees charged to applicants, the company's status in the register, who stands behind the agency.
LESS Models writes that it was born from a passion for aesthetics and creative processes and that it is a place where beauty meets punk; on the site the agency is presented by Zitta Egede and Thomas Baunsgaard. In the copy of the Danish company register it is T. Baunsgaard / LESS Models (CVR 35789375), a sole proprietorship registered on 19 March 2014 in Herning at Gudhjemvej 3C, industry photography, one employee, status normal. That means the agency is part of a photographer's business: the person who takes the pictures is the person who represents you. On its Facebook page it says it represents models of all ages.
The board is large and live: on 18 October 2026 we counted 117 profiles with measurements, and the entries on the home page are dated October 2026. The filters separate Youngsters and Adults, women and men, and ages from 1 to 51, and the home towns show where the agency gathers its people: Silkeborg, Fredericia, Aalborg, Aarhus, Odense, Herning. In the catalogue the boards are women, men and kids.
Applications go by e-mail with photos and measurements. The agency says selected applicants are invited to a monthly introductory meeting where polaroid test shots are taken, and an answer comes within about 14 days. The site gives no height or age figures. It mentions no fee to applicants and no commission rate; ask for both in writing before the meeting, and ask whether the polaroid session is free.
LESS Models is on the signatory list of the Danish Fashion Ethical Charter (as "Less Models"), the only agency in the small Jutland towns besides Vero Model Management in Silkeborg. The charter binds its signatories to pay for every commercial job, to send Danish models for a health check once they turn 16, and to follow the age rule: work from 16, at 15 with a dispensation and an accompanying adult, younger only with children's and teenage clothing. The list carries no dates, so we do not know the year of signing.
Children from the age of 1: what the law says
Because the board has children from the age of 1, Herning parents need to know the rules. A child under 13 needs a permit from the Director of the Working Environment Authority (Arbejdstilsynet) to take part in a photo shoot or an advertising film, issued case by case under order no. 1713 of 18 December 2025 on young people's work; since 1 January 2026 the authority, not the police, issues them. Either the company or the parents can apply, through virk.dk with MitID and the child's CPR number, and the target processing time is at most 3 weeks. The authority writes that for a child of 6 or under the default is a refusal unless the specific circumstances justify it, while for children aged 7 to 12 it can approve, for example, three days of at most 6 hours between 10:00 and 18:00. Preparation, make-up and breaks count as working time, travel to the location does not. A permit is needed however short the job. From 13, shoots are allowed without a permit if they pose no danger to safety or health. Parents can be fined if a child works in breach of the order with their knowledge.
The Herning market
Herning is the town of the Danish fashion industry more than any other outside Copenhagen. It is the seat of the fashion and textile trade body Dansk Mode & Textil (DM&T): founded in 1895 in Odense as the association of textile manufacturers, it had more than 375 members in 2017, and its CEO Thomas Klausen has chaired the board of Copenhagen Fashion Week since 2019. Brande, 25 km away, is where an encyclopaedia search excerpt places the headquarters of BESTSELLER; the company itself writes that it was founded in 1975 in Ringkøbing by Troels Holch Povlsen and Merete Bech Povlsen, is family-owned, has more than 20 brands including JACK & JONES, ONLY, VERO MODA and NAME IT, about 25,000 colleagues and 3,100 stores in 47 countries. BESTSELLER, VERO MODA, ONLY and JACK & JONES are on the charter's signatory list, so the charter's rules on age and payment apply to their bookings. In Brande itself we found no agency office.
Such a landscape means catalogue, e-commerce and children's clothing work rather than the runway. Fashion week takes place in Copenhagen twice a year, and the nearest agencies with fashion boards are in Silkeborg (Vero Model Management, registered in 2025, whose models walked Copenhagen Fashion Week SS27 shows) and in Aarhus, 85 km away, with four agencies and the Unique Models open casting every Friday. Most agencies, 16 of 32, are in Copenhagen.
Before you apply
Agencies in Denmark need no licence, so the checking is yours: the site must show the company's name, address, e-mail and eight-digit CVR number, which you can check free of charge at datacvr.virk.dk. Fees are taxed as B-income, and an EU citizen needs only a passport for up to three months. All of this is in the Denmark guide.
- Take plain digitals in daylight and write down accurate measurements: LESS Models asks for both in the e-mail.
- Before the introductory meeting, ask in writing whether the polaroid session and any later photos are free. The agency is a photographer's business, so clarity matters more here than elsewhere.
- Before you sign, ask for the contract in writing and look in it for the commission, the length of exclusivity and the payment term. No law or association sets the commission in Denmark.
- If you register a child under 13, find out who will apply to the Working Environment Authority: the agency, the client or you.
