In short
- The catalogue has four agencies in Aarhus out of 32 in Denmark: Smash Agency, Legend Model, the Aarhus office of Le Management and the Aarhus branch of Unique Models. Three of them work on or just off Åboulevarden.
- We do not vouch for the agencies. Four Trustpilot reviews of Smash Agency say new models paid for an introduction shoot themselves (one gives DKK 1,800); the agency has not replied. Legend Model's client terms carry a DKK 100 health fee per booking.
- Le Management is legally an Aarhus company: founded here in 2010, registered seat at Åboulevarden 52. Unique Models opened its Aarhus branch in March 2010 and holds an open casting every Friday.
- The city's oldest agency, Diva Models (1987), was dissolved by merger into its holding company on 8 June 2026; the Ebeltoft agency Casablanca Models holds its DKK 500 test shoots in Aarhus as well.
- Mona Tougaard, from Aarhus, won Denmark's Elite Model Look in 2017 and opened Prada and closed Chanel in 2019.
This page covers only what is specific to Aarhus and Jutland. Why Denmark has no licence, what the law says about fees charged to applicants, how fees are taxed, how minors work and what papers a model from abroad needs are all in the guide Modeling agencies in Denmark.
What kind of agencies work in Aarhus
Denmark has no licence for model agencies, no register of them and no association of agencies, so the catalogue lists every business that represents models. We do not vouch for them and we recommend none: each profile shows what we found, good and bad. In Aarhus that means four records. Two belong to home-grown agencies founded by people who live here: Smash Agency (a company since 2019) and Legend Model (a company since 2015). The other two are offices of Denmark's big names. For Le Management it is not even a branch but the company's registered seat; Unique Models of Copenhagen A/S opened its Aarhus branch in March 2010 to attract Jutland models and serve Jutland clients, as Jyllands-Posten wrote at the time.
Three agencies share one neighbourhood: Le Management at Åboulevarden 52, Smash Agency at Åboulevarden 66, and Unique Models at Maren Smeds Gyde 9, in the lane between Åboulevarden and Søndergade. Legend Model's office is at Ryesgade 6, by the station. Three of the four (Le Management, Legend Model and Unique Models) are on the signatory list of the Danish Fashion Ethical Charter; Smash Agency is not.
Smash Agency
Smash Agency calls itself Denmark's happiest casting and model agency ("Danmarks gladeste casting & modelbureau"). According to the copy of the Danish company register, Smash Agency ApS (CVR 40640193) was registered on 2 July 2019 in Aarhus; the founders, Louise Greve and Anja Aarestrup Lund, still run it, and the register shows 5 employees. The boards are wide: women, men, curve, classic, actors, sport, families, kids and teens, and creatives. The agency writes that it does not care about height, skin tone or size, and its team includes bookers, in-house photographers and a make-up artist. On its site it says it received the Børsen Gazelle award, given by the business daily to Denmark's fastest-growing companies, for the second year in a row in 2024 and 2025. On 19 October 2023 it held a kids casting in the Salling department store in Aalborg, looking for boys and girls of all types from 6 months to 14 years.
Applications are made online with six photos; if the agency is interested, it answers within 8 days. It stresses that it never casts over a webcam, only face to face at the agency. The page title reads "Aarhus | København", yet no Copenhagen address appears anywhere on the site, and Trustpilot reviewers write that they travelled to Aarhus from Zealand.
On Trustpilot Smash Agency has 3.8 out of 5 (17 reviews), and the agency has not claimed the profile. Several 1-star reviews (June 2022, September 2023, January and May 2024) say new models had to pay for an introduction portfolio shoot themselves; one gives DKK 1,800, another says photos from the paid shoot were later used by brands. The agency has not replied to these reviews, and its site does not mention a fee, saying only that there are no height or size restrictions. These are the reviewers' claims, not our finding. Before a meeting, ask in writing whether the first shoot costs money and how much.
Legend Model
Legend Model is the agency of Peter Niebuhr. Its Aarhus history is longer than the company's: according to the directory Cylex, his earlier agency INQ Models at Kystvejen 65 was a merger of Bergmodels and Niebuhr Models, and the sole proprietorship ran from 2008 to 2012. Fashion Forum wrote on 1 August 2014 that INQ Models joined Unique Models that year and closed its curve board, which led the model Maja Volmark to found Volume Model Management, Denmark's first agency only for curvy women (we found no live site for it). The present company, per the register copy, was registered on 23 September 2015 as ANDMM ApS, which Lasso.dk spells out as "& Model Management"; on 12 September 2020 it was renamed LEGEND Model ApS (CVR 37123536). Both names are on the charter's signatory list: "LEGEND Model" and "& Model Management". The register shows 3 employees; besides the director, the site presents the agents Louise Hyhne Rohard and Olivia Kaae Eriksen.
There are many boards: for women Legends, Mainboard, Commercial, Timeless, Development, 95+ and Curves; for men the same without the last two; plus Locals, Artists and Legend Socials with 12 influencer and talent profiles. The women's mainboard had 66 models in October 2026. Requirements for applicants: girls 174-184 cm from age 12, boys 184-192 cm from age 14; the application goes through an online form with five photos without make-up. The site says almost nothing about itself, so the catalogue's quote is the requirements line from the application page.
The most interesting document is the client terms, the most detailed of any Aarhus agency. They set a health and well-being fee of DKK 100 per model per booking, tied to the Danish Fashion Ethical Charter; the charter's own text speaks of a DKK 75 health-check fee on invoices, so the agency applies its own rate. Section 18, on artificial intelligence, was updated on 21 September 2026: without the model's written consent it is forbidden to create digital twins or avatars of the model or to train AI models on their pictures. Part of the text was copied from a British template, with references to the UK's BIS rules and a credit "@ Storm" left in. The terms contain no fee for applicants and the site publishes no commission rate; ask for both in writing.
Le Management in Aarhus
The Aarhus office of Le Management is the company's birthplace. Lex says the agency was founded in Aarhus in 2010 by Martin Lyne and Jannick Lindberg, and that the Copenhagen, Stockholm and Hamburg offices came later. In the register Le Management ApS (CVR 33060009) was registered on 8 July 2010, its registered office is still Åboulevarden 52, 8000 Aarhus C, and it shows 106 employees (the site says "more than 50"). Among the agency's models the encyclopaedia names Mathilde Brandi, Laura Julie and Line Brems; the agency also owns the influencer agency NYLON Studio. On its site Le Management calls itself a co-founder of the Danish Fashion Ethical Charter, assigns every model a dedicated agent and holds events on body awareness and the industry several times a year. Applications go through the open call on the site, and the application page prints the Aarhus address. The Copenhagen office has its own record, Le Management (Copenhagen).
At the same address and under the same CVR number works the kids division, Le Management Kids. The agency writes that in 2012 it acquired a kids agency, which Lex names as Little People; the Aarhus company Little-People The Agency ApS existed in the register from 2012 to 2014, and the name lives on in the kids division. On its site the kids board can be filtered by city: Copenhagen, Aarhus, Stockholm, Gothenburg. The Aarhus office has a separate phone line for kids.
TV 2 reported on 5 September 2025 that fraudsters on Instagram posed as Le Management scouts to obtain intimate pictures from young people; a 16-year-old turned up at the agency's Copenhagen office believing he had an appointment. The agency was not involved in the fraud and itself reported the complaints it was receiving. If someone writes to you in Le Management's name from a personal account, check the contact through the office listed on the site.
Unique Models in Aarhus
The Aarhus branch of Unique Models belongs to Unique Models of Copenhagen A/S (CVR 13403147), registered on 1 August 1989; the Copenhagen head office is described in the record Unique Models (Copenhagen). Jyllands-Posten wrote on 28 January 2010 that Denmark's largest agency was opening a branch in Aarhus from 1 March 2010, and Randers Amtsavis on 6 February gave 15 March and an office in Søndergade led by Henriette Schausen. Today the office is at Maren Smeds Gyde 9, first floor; the office manager is Gry Halling Voetmann and the agents are she and Martin Julian. In the register copy on Proff.dk the unit is called "Unique Århus". The agency has four divisions: the mainboard, direct, development, and Unique Creatives for stylists and make-up artists. According to Lex, the retail group Salling is one of the owners of Unique Models, and the agency was the first in Denmark to introduce health checks for models.
In Aarhus, Unique Models is the agency most open to newcomers. An open casting is held every Friday from 14.00 to 16.00 except holidays; an online application needs three natural photos without make-up and no selfies, the answer comes within 14 days if the agency is interested, and the data of those not taken on is deleted after 30 days. Since it is not a kids agency, it takes applicants from age 14 only. With the Salling department store it also runs mass castings: on 5 and 6 February 2010 in Aarhus and Aalborg (earlier ones drew 200 to 400 people), and on 6 April 2018 the seventh casting, with requirements of girls aged 15 to 21 and at least 169 cm, boys aged 15 to 25 and at least 180 cm; Salling's press release says the top model Solveig Mørk was found at an earlier such casting. Salling's calendar listed a model search on 16 October 2026 in Aalborg and 17 October 2026 in Aarhus.
Unique Models says in its Q&A file that starting out at the agency costs nothing: the start-up phase and all the courses (walking, acting, training) are free for the model. The contract runs for one year, although the agency calls three years the most usual term in the industry. Models are never weighed, the agency prefers them to be 16 before working in Denmark under the ethical charter, and it does not let models travel abroad alone before 18. This file, too, gives no commission rate.
Agencies that are no longer in Aarhus
The oldest agency in Aarhus was Diva Models. Lex says it was founded in 1987 by Lene Tinning Barbagallo, Jette Mondrup and Lina Barbagallo, had models such as Marianne Schrøder, Maria Gregersen and Stefan Kristensen, and was a member of the Danish Fashion Ethical Charter. The company Diva Models ApS (CVR 29611270) was dissolved by merger into Diva Models Holding ApS on 8 June 2026, divamodels.com no longer resolves, and the last press items (Århus Stiftstidende, June 2024) were about loss-making annual accounts. Its name is still on the charter's signatory page, because the list carries no dates and seems not to be updated. The catalogue has no record for it: there is no live site.
The other stories are shorter. INQ Models (a sole proprietorship from 2008 to 2012, later an ApS, at Kystvejen 65) merged into Unique Models in 2014, and its owner Peter Niebuhr later founded Legend Model. Little-People The Agency ApS existed in the register from 2012 to 2014 and its name survives in Le Management Kids. Modelbooking ApS has been registered since 2018 at Marselis Boulevard 24, but modelbooking.com does not resolve and a Facebook page is the only trace. None of them is in the catalogue.
Casablanca Models and Ebeltoft
Forty-five kilometres from Aarhus, in Ebeltoft, works Casablanca Models, which calls itself Denmark's largest kids model agency and has its own page, Ebeltoft. It matters for Aarhus for two reasons. The agency's FAQ says 80 percent of jobs are in Copenhagen or Aarhus and that it mainly takes children living within 1.5 hours of those cities; test shoots are held at the agency in Aarhus and Copenhagen, and Trustpilot lists Jægergårdsgade 76 in Aarhus as its contact address, although the site prints only the Ebeltoft address. Second, it is the only agency in the region that states a fee to applicants in public: the test shoot costs DKK 500, which counts as the registration fee if the child is accepted and, the agency offers, can be deducted from the first job payment; a rejected child receives 4 to 6 photos. The site also sells a "Model for a day" service at DKK 1,950. On Trustpilot the agency has 2.7 out of 5 (24 reviews), and the owner replies to the criticism. All of this is set out on the Ebeltoft page and in the agency's profile.
The South Zealand agency Cast Agency Denmark also holds castings in Aarhus: MigogAarhus wrote on 15 February 2024 about its casting in the city for children aged 3 to 16. Its terms set a registration fee of DKK 385, not refundable once processing has begun.

No Danish agency whose site we opened publishes a commission rate and no law sets one, so the only thing to compare is what agencies write themselves. Danish law neither sets nor bans an agency's fees to models: no permit has been needed to run an agency since 1990. How a fee is sold and agreed falls under the Marketing Practices Act (special care where the buyer is a minor) and section 36 of the Contracts Act, under which an unfair term can be set aside. All of this is set out in the Denmark guide.
The Aarhus market
Aarhus is Denmark's second-largest city and the centre of the Central Jutland region. Our catalogue has seven agencies in Central Jutland: four in Aarhus and one each in Ebeltoft (Casablanca Models), Silkeborg (Vero Model Management, registered in 2025, whose models walk Copenhagen Fashion Week shows) and Herning (LESS Models). In the other Jutland towns we checked (Randers, Kolding, Vejle, Horsens, Viborg, Billund, Brande) we found no agency office, so the Aarhus agencies serve the whole peninsula: Unique Models opened its branch for Jutland clients and models, and the board of LESS Models in Herning lists models from Silkeborg, Fredericia, Aalborg, Aarhus and Odense.
The client landscape differs from Copenhagen's. Copenhagen Fashion Week takes place in the capital twice a year, in January or February and in August (the next edition is AW27, 1 to 5 February 2027), and models from the Aarhus agencies travel to it. At home the main work is commercial: the Salling department store, whose group is one of the owners of Unique Models and which hosts castings, the retail chains føtex and bilka, which according to Casablanca Models book their kids models through it, and the clothing industry of mid-Jutland. The country's largest clothing group, BESTSELLER, founded in 1975 in Ringkøbing and owner of more than 20 brands including JACK & JONES, ONLY, VERO MODA and NAME IT, has its headquarters in Denmark; according to an encyclopaedia search excerpt they are in Brande, near Herning, which is also home to the fashion and textile trade body DM&T. BESTSELLER, VERO MODA, ONLY and JACK & JONES are on the signatory list of the Danish Fashion Ethical Charter, so the charter's rules on age and payment apply to their bookings.
One of the best-known Danish models of recent years comes from Aarhus. The Business of Fashion writes that Mona Tougaard was scouted at 12, won Denmark's Elite Model Look in 2017 at the age of 15, signed with Elite offices and The Society, and in her first season, autumn-winter 2019, opened Prada and closed Chanel. She is on the board of Elite Model Management Copenhagen. The lesson for an Aarhus applicant is plain: a big career starts with a contest or a mother agency, not with a paid photo shoot.
The local press writes about agencies rarely, but it does write: Jyllands-Posten and Randers Amtsavis on the arrival of Unique Models in 2010, Fashion Forum on the INQ Models merger in 2014, Århus Stiftstidende on Diva Models' accounts in 2024, MigogAarhus on kids castings. For anyone staying longer than three months, Aarhus has an International Citizen Service centre, ICS West, where the CPR number is issued.
Children and teenagers in Aarhus
Three of the four Aarhus agencies work with minors: Le Management Kids has its own Aarhus office, Smash Agency has kids and teens and families boards, and Legend Model takes girls from age 12. Casablanca Models in Ebeltoft works mostly with children, and Cast Agency Denmark holds kids castings in the city. Unique Models does not take children.
The rules are these. A child under 13 needs a permit from the Director of the Working Environment Authority (Arbejdstilsynet) to take part in a photo shoot or an advertising film, issued case by case under order no. 1713 of 18 December 2025 on young people's work; since 1 January 2026 the authority, not the police, issues them. Either the company or the parents can apply, through virk.dk with MitID, the target processing time is at most 3 weeks, and for a child of 6 or under the default is a refusal. From 13, shoots and shows are allowed without a permit if they pose no danger to safety or health. The Danish Fashion Ethical Charter, signed by Le Management, Legend Model and Unique Models, adds its own floor: a model must be 16 to work, a 15-year-old needs a dispensation and an accompanying adult, and younger models may only work with children's and teenage clothing, accompanied by an adult whom the agency arranges. See the glossary entry on the chaperone.
Before you apply
Agencies in Denmark need no licence, so the checking is yours: the site must show the company's name, address, e-mail and eight-digit CVR number, which you can check free of charge at datacvr.virk.dk (the status NORMAL or Aktiv means a live company). Fees in Denmark are taxed as B-income, and an EU citizen needs nothing but a passport for up to three months. All of this is in the Denmark guide. For Aarhus we add five steps.
- Decide what you are looking for. For a fashion career with foreign offices, Le Management and Unique Models are the closest; Legend Model has both fashion and commercial boards; Smash Agency is a casting agency for all types.
- Take plain digitals in daylight: Unique Models asks for three, Legend Model for five and Smash Agency for six photos without make-up.
- If you want to meet in person, go to the Unique Models Friday casting between 14.00 and 16.00, or follow Salling's event calendar.
- Before paying for any shoot, ask in writing whether it is compulsory and what happens if the agency does not take you on. For Smash Agency this is what reviewers describe; for Casablanca Models the agency says so itself (DKK 500).
- In the contract, look for the commission, the length of exclusivity and the payment term. Unique Models says its contract runs for one year; the other Aarhus agencies publish no term, so ask.
