In short
- The catalogue has one agency in Aalborg out of 32 in Denmark: Highline Fashion, a sole proprietorship since 1985, a model agency and fashion show organiser.
- We do not vouch for it. The site's copyright date is 2020 and applications are still accepted by post with a stamped return envelope, so phone before you apply.
- Requirements: at least 16, girls from 172 cm (size 36-38), boys from 182 cm (size 50-52). The site mentions no fee to applicants.
- Agencies from Aarhus and Copenhagen hold castings in the Salling store in Aalborg; the nearest big market is Aarhus.
Highline Fashion
Aalborg is Denmark's fourth-largest city and the centre of the North Jutland region. Of the 32 Danish agencies in our catalogue, one is here. Denmark has no licence for model agencies, no register of them and no association of agencies, so the catalogue lists every business that represents models. We do not vouch for them, and each profile shows what we found, good and bad: fees charged to applicants, the company's status in the register, press reports and the state of the website.
Highline Fashion calls itself a professional model agency and fashion show organiser in one. The regional daily Nordjyske wrote on 18 May 2012 that Jørn Munch Nielsen started the agency in 1986 as a side activity to his teaching job; in the copy of the Danish company register his sole proprietorship Highline Fashion v/Jørn Munch Nielsen (CVR 10046572) was registered on 16 December 1985 in Aalborg at Kong Christians Allé 29, status normal, one employee. According to the paper, the agency holds castings every three months, sends a poster folder to about 3,500 clients and has sent a candidate to the Miss World contest three times. The site says the agency has been honing its craft for 30 years, and the contact page names, besides the director, the scouts and bookers Viola Push and Helle Iversen. There are two boards, women and men, both with named models. The agency is not on the signatory list of the Danish Fashion Ethical Charter.
The requirements for applicants are printed on the site and have not changed since the 2012 article: at least 16 and of normal build, girls at least 172 cm and size 36-38, boys at least 182 cm and size 50-52. Applications go by e-mail or by post with a stamped return envelope. The site mentions no fee to applicants and gives no commission rate; ask for both in writing.
Two things are useful to know in advance. The site is built on Joomla, its copyright line says 2020, PHP warnings appear on its pages, and applications by post with a return envelope are the practice of an earlier decade. The business is live in the register and the boards show models, but we found no newer signs of activity, so how active the agency is today is unclear. Before you send photos, phone and ask when the last casting was held and what jobs the agency has had in recent months. Second, Denmark's e-commerce act requires a commercial website to show a name, address, e-mail address and CVR number; the Highline Fashion site shows a name and address, and we took the CVR number from the register copy.
The age floor of 16 matches the rule of the Danish Fashion Ethical Charter, although the agency has not signed it: under the charter a model must be 16 to work, and a 15-year-old needs a dispensation and an accompanying adult. The law itself is softer: from 13, shoots and shows are allowed without a permit, and younger children need a permit from the Working Environment Authority. Highline Fashion takes no children, so Aalborg has no kids agency; the nearest are in Aarhus (Le Management Kids, Smash Agency) and Ebeltoft (Casablanca Models). The agency's other side is shows: the menu has a Shows section, and Nordjyske wrote about the poster folder sent to thousands of clients. For a model this means that part of the work may be local runway events whose payment terms you should settle in advance: the charter requires payment for every commercial job, but it does not bind agencies that have not signed it.
The Aalborg market and who comes here
We found no other permanent model agency in North Jutland. In 2002 the Aalborg agency Danish Models told TV 2 Fyn it was opening a branch on Funen, but there has been no trace of it since; an Instagram account, littlepeople.theagency, still posts Aalborg castings according to a TV2 Nord report of 2018, but the name now belongs to Le Management Kids and we cannot read the account's content. Neither is in the catalogue.
The big agencies come to Aalborg through the Salling department store. Jyllands-Posten wrote on 28 January 2010 that Unique Models, while opening its Aarhus branch, was holding castings with Salling in Aarhus and Aalborg on 5 and 6 February 2010; Salling's event calendar listed a Unique Models model search on 16 October 2026 in Aalborg and 17 October 2026 in Aarhus. The Aarhus agency Smash Agency held a kids casting in the Salling store in Aalborg on 19 October 2023, looking for boys and girls of all types from 6 months to 14 years. The board of LESS Models in Herning lists Aalborg among its models' home towns. If a fashion career is your aim, the realistic route from Aalborg is Aarhus, where Unique Models holds an open casting every Friday from 14.00 to 16.00 and Le Management has its registered seat, or Copenhagen with 16 agencies.
For anyone staying longer than three months, Aalborg has an International Citizen Service centre, ICS North, where the CPR number is issued.
Before you apply
Agencies in Denmark need no licence, so the checking is yours: the site must show the company's name, address, e-mail and eight-digit CVR number, which you can check free of charge at datacvr.virk.dk. Fees are taxed as B-income, and an EU citizen needs only a passport for up to three months. All of this is in the Denmark guide.
- Take plain digitals in daylight and write down accurate measurements: Highline Fashion states both height and clothing size.
- Phone before you send anything: ask about the last casting, the next show and whether applications are still taken by post.
- Before you sign, ask for the contract in writing and look in it for the commission, the length of exclusivity and the payment term. No law or association sets the commission in Denmark.
- If you want to meet a bigger agency without leaving the city, follow Salling's event calendar.
