In short
- The catalogue has one agency in Ebeltoft out of 32 in Denmark: Casablanca Models, the sole proprietorship of Heidi Bergholdt since 1993, founded in 1994 by the agency's own account.
- We do not vouch for it. The test shoot costs DKK 500 (on acceptance it becomes the registration fee, deducted from the first job payment), and the "Model for a day" service DKK 1,950.
- Trustpilot 2.7 out of 5 (24 reviews) with the owner's replies; Facebook 4.2 out of 5 (92 reviews) according to a search result.
- Test shoots are also held in Aarhus and Copenhagen, where, in the agency's words, 80 percent of its jobs take place; children under 13 need a permit from the Working Environment Authority.
Casablanca Models
Ebeltoft is an old harbour town on Djursland, 45 km from Aarhus, and has one of the 32 Danish agencies in our catalogue. Denmark has no licence for model agencies, no register of them and no association of agencies, so the catalogue lists every business that represents models, including those that charge applicants. We do not vouch for them, and each profile shows what we found, good and bad: fees, reviews with the agency's replies, the register status.
Casablanca Models writes that it was founded in 1994 by Heidi Bergholdt and that today it is one of the largest and most respected agencies in Denmark; on its home page it calls itself Denmark's largest kids model agency ("Danmarks største modelbureau for børn") and says the retail chains føtex and bilka book their kids models through it and that it scouts children all year round. In the register copy the owner's sole proprietorship Casablanca Models / Heidi Bergholdt (CVR 17068180) was registered on 1 July 1993 in Ebeltoft, status normal, with 18 employees. The site prints a single address, Kølbakken 15, Basballe, 8400 Ebeltoft, so the catalogue lists the agency under Ebeltoft, although the FAQ speaks of test shoots at the agency in Aarhus and Copenhagen and Trustpilot gives Jægergårdsgade 76 in Aarhus as the contact address. The boards are kids, teens, adults, plus-size women and seniors. The agency is not on the signatory list of the Danish Fashion Ethical Charter.
Fees: DKK 500 and DKK 1,950
Casablanca Models is the only Jutland agency that publishes a fee to applicants, and we say so plainly. The FAQ for kid applicants says a fee of DKK 500 is paid for the test shoot at the agency; if the child is accepted, the sum also counts as the registration fee, and the agency offers to deduct it from the first job payment. A rejected child receives 4 to 6 photos. A separate service, "Model for a day", is open to anyone aged 12 to 70: a styled shoot with make-up for DKK 1,950, with all raw files and 8 retouched photos.
Danish law neither sets nor bans an agency's fees to models; the only fee ban in force covers temp agencies that employ the worker. How a fee is sold falls under the Marketing Practices Act: section 3(2) requires special care where a commercial practice is aimed at children and young people, and sections 5 and 6 forbid misleading actions and omissions. Section 36 of the Contracts Act allows an unfair term to be set aside. We found no court ruling on a model agency's registration fee in Denmark.
On Trustpilot the agency has 2.7 out of 5 (24 reviews; the profile was claimed in June 2016, and there were no new reviews in the last 12 months). In a 1-star review of 30 August 2019 a 20-year-old model wrote that she paid DKK 500 for a test shoot of under 5 minutes and felt unwelcome; the owner replied that it was a test shoot, not a casting, and that the applicant was only 164 cm, below the agency's minimum. Reviews of 11 June 2022 criticised the "Model for en dag" service; the agency replied and asked for the participant's name. On Facebook, according to a search result, the agency has 4.2 out of 5 (92 reviews). Before you pay DKK 500, check the minimum requirements: if you do not meet them, you are paying for photos, not a casting.
Requirements and the rules for children's work
The minimum requirements page gives: teen girls aged 13 to 15, 167-175 cm; teen boys aged 14 to 18, 167-176 cm; women aged 16 to 55, 170-180 cm, size 36-38; men aged 22 to 55, 180-190 cm, size 50-52; female and male seniors aged 56 to 65; plus-size women aged 18 to 25, 170-178 cm, size 42-48. There are no height limits for children. The FAQ says the agency mainly takes children living within 1.5 hours of Aarhus or Copenhagen, because 80 percent of jobs are there.
The agency says all its kids have a work permit. The rule is this: a child under 13 needs a permit from the Director of the Working Environment Authority (Arbejdstilsynet) to take part in a photo shoot or an advertising film, issued case by case under order no. 1713 of 18 December 2025; since 1 January 2026 the authority, not the police, issues them. The company or the parents apply through virk.dk with MitID, processing takes up to 3 weeks, for a child of 6 or under the default is a refusal, and for children aged 7 to 12 the authority can approve, for example, three days of at most 6 hours between 10:00 and 18:00. From 13, shoots are allowed without a permit if they pose no danger to safety or health. Ask the agency who files the application.
Ebeltoft and the Aarhus market
The jobs, as the agency itself writes, are in Copenhagen and Aarhus, with retail chains and children's clothing brands as clients. The nearest big market is Aarhus with four agencies: Le Management Kids has a separate kids office, Smash Agency has kids and teens and families boards, and neither states a fee for a child's test shoot on its site. Mid-Jutland also has Vero Model Management in Silkeborg and LESS Models in Herning, with children from age 1. Most agencies, 16 of 32, are in Copenhagen.
Before you apply
Agencies in Denmark need no licence, so the checking is yours: the site must show the company's name, address, e-mail and CVR number, which you can check free at datacvr.virk.dk. Fees are taxed as B-income, and an EU citizen needs only a passport for up to three months. All of this is in the Denmark guide.
- Check the minimum requirements before booking a test shoot: the DKK 500 is paid even when the child or adult is not taken on.
- Ask for written confirmation that the DKK 500 will be deducted from the first job payment, and how long the first job usually takes to come.
- Do not confuse "Model for a day" with a casting: for DKK 1,950 you get photos, not a place on the board. Plain digitals taken in daylight are enough for a casting.
- In the contract, look for the commission, the length of exclusivity and the payment term; for a child under 13, find out who handles the Working Environment Authority permit.
