Kids modeling agencies in Denmark
There are 32 modeling agencies in Denmark, 15 of them holding a state licence or a professional-association membership. Below: every agency with its boards and founding year, a comparison table, and what international models need to know. We do not vouch for agencies: each profile shows what we found about it, good and bad.
Denmark has no licence for model agencies, no register of them and no agency association: the permit for private job placement was repealed from 1 July 1990, and anyone with a CVR number can start one. The catalogue lists every business that represents models; we do not vouch for them, and each profile shows what we found, good and bad: fees charged to applicants with prices, company details, Danish Fashion Ethical Charter membership, press reports and history. The catalogue has 32 agencies in 13 places: 16 in Copenhagen, 4 in Aarhus, 2 in Odense, and one each in Aalborg, Esbjerg, Herning, Silkeborg, Ebeltoft, Aakirkeby, Tappernøje, Hellerup, Klampenborg and Albertslund.

Denmark for international models
- As an EU citizen you need no work permit in Denmark: SIRI writes that an EU citizen may freely enter Denmark and begin to work upon arrival, with or without an EU residence document. For up to 3 months there is nothing to apply for; if you stay longer than 3 months, you apply through SIRI for the free EU residence document (form OD1A), which has no expiry date.
- A tax card needs a CPR number or a tax number. If you work for 3 months or less, you get a tax number instead of a CPR number. If you intend to stay 3 months or more (6 months for EU citizens), you register with the Civil Registration Office in person at a Citizen Service centre with the EU residence document, your passport and proof of a permanent Danish address; International Citizen Service centres are in Copenhagen, Aarhus, Odense, Aalborg, Esbjerg and Sønderborg. Without a tax card an employer withholds 55% of a salary.
- Fees in Denmark are B-indkomst: tax and the 8% labour-market contribution (am-bidrag) are not deducted from them, the recipient pays them; from 2026 am-bidrag on B income is paid only from the age of 18. A business must register for VAT once taxable sales exceed DKK 50,000 within a calendar year; below that, registration is optional.
- Denmark has no artist or model withholding tax for non-residents. The Tax Agency's legal guide says limited tax liability arises only with employment by a Danish employer or a foreign employer with a permanent establishment in Denmark, or with an establishment of your own there. Our reading: a self-employed model living abroad who is paid a fee by a Danish agency or client for a few days' work owes no Danish tax on it and declares it at home. We did not read the treaty position for any country, so talk to a tax adviser and ask your home social-security institution about an A1 certificate.
- If you are not an EU citizen, you need a residence and work permit (application fee for the work schemes DKK 6,810 in 2026). The exemption for models: professional models who work in Denmark for a short period in connection with companies holding significant international fashion shows and fairs are exempt from the work permit for up to 3 working days within 180 days, together or as three separate days; a visa is still needed where your nationality requires one. For other cases SIRI issues a guiding statement in writing.
- Public payments and tax refunds go to a NemKonto; if you live abroad you can set up a non-Danish account. You can open a Danish bank account only once you have a tax card. An employer reporting a non-resident's pay must have your home-country Tax Identification Number since 2024.
- No law or association sets the commission in Denmark and no agency publishes one; read the percentage, and the amount it is calculated on, in your contract. No law bans an agency's fees to models: Casablanca Models charges DKK 500 for a test shoot, Cast Agency Denmark a DKK 385 registration fee and JS Total Booking DKK 98 for a profile; the amounts are on the profiles.
- The Danish Fashion Ethical Charter, run by Copenhagen Fashion Week, requires a model to be 16 (15 with dispensation and an adult), payment for work, and an LMS health check for every Danish model at a charter agency, paid for by the agency. International models at Copenhagen Fashion Week file a medical certificate valid for 2 years, usually paid for by the foreign agency or the model. The next fashion week, AW27, runs from 1 to 5 February 2027.

How this list is made
The list includes every agency that represents models. We check the facts on each agency's own website, in public company registers, on association member lists and in the press, and publish what we find: fees charged to applicants, schools, company status, press reports, history and memberships. We do not vouch for or recommend agencies. No agency pays to be listed and there are no rankings. Last checked: 2026-10-10.
01How many modeling agencies are there in Denmark?
This catalogue lists 32 agencies in Denmark, including Heartbreak Management, Unique Models, Scoop Models and 2pm Management. It includes every agency that represents models; we do not vouch for them, and each profile shows the facts we found, good and bad.
02Do modeling agencies in Denmark need a licence?
No. The permit for private job placement and the hiring-out of labour was repealed by Act no. 840 of 20 December 1989 with effect from 1 July 1990, and nothing replaced it for model agencies: anyone can start an agency after registering a business and getting a CVR number. The one intermediary act in force, the temp-agency act of 2013, is written for businesses that employ a worker and send him to work under a client's direction, and no official text has applied it to a model agency. A CVR number proves only that a business exists. Judge an agency by its model board, its contract, its register entry and whether it is on the signatory list of the Danish Fashion Ethical Charter. The catalogue lists every business that represents models and does not vouch for them.
03Can a Danish agency charge a registration or portfolio fee?
No law forbids it and none allows it in so many words: the 1990 reform removed the job-placement chapter altogether, and the only ban on charging a worker applies to temp agencies. How a fee is sold falls under the Marketing Practices Act (special care with minors, no misleading, no undue pressure), and an unfair contract can be set aside under section 36 of the Contracts Act. The big Copenhagen agencies say starting is free: Unique Models' courses are free, Elite never asks for payment to be recruited, CC Models never demands payment. Elsewhere there are fees: Casablanca Models charges DKK 500 for a test shoot and DKK 1,950 for its "Model for a day" service, Cast Agency Denmark a DKK 385 registration fee, JS Total Booking DKK 98 for a profile, and reviewers of Smash Agency say they paid for an introduction shoot (one gives DKK 1,800). We show these facts on the profiles.
04What commission do Danish model agencies take?
No law or association sets it, and none of the agencies whose sites we opened (Unique, Scoop, Elite Copenhagen, Vero, Le Management, Smash, CC Models) publishes a percentage; no Danish press source states a norm either. The charter says agreements on pay are made between the agency, the model and the client. So read the commission, and the amount it is calculated on, in your own contract. Clients of charter agencies also pay a DKK 75 health-check fee per invoice, and under Legend Model's terms a DKK 100 health fee per model per booking.
05How much does a model earn in Denmark?
We cannot give you a figure: there are no official data on models' earnings, agencies publish no rate cards, and Denmark has no minimum wage at all, since pay is set by collective agreements and models have none. The only sum in the sources is a DKK 2,000 job fee mentioned in Politiken in 2012, and we do not print it as a current rate. Unique Models writes that the fee varies from job to job. The agency's commission comes off a fee, and a model living in Denmark also pays B-skat and 8% am-bidrag. In 2012 payment was reported to arrive up to a year and a half late; whether that is still so is not verified.
06From what age can you model in Denmark?
By law, children under 13 may take part in shoots and advertising only with a permit from the Director of Arbejdstilsynet, issued case by case under the order BEK nr 1713 af 18/12/2025 (section 38); it is given if the participation is safe, usually for at most 7 hours a day, and at 6 or under the default is a refusal. Since 1 January 2026 the permit comes from Arbejdstilsynet, not the police. From 13, cultural activities including shoots and shows are allowed without a permit if they are not dangerous to safety or health. The charter sets its own floor: 16, 15 with dispensation and an adult, younger only for children's clothing. Agencies take applications from 14 (Unique, Scoop for girls, Vero, Selten), Legend from 12 for women.
07Is there an association of model agencies or a code of conduct in Denmark?
We found no association of agencies. There is a code of conduct: the Danish Fashion Ethical Charter, founded in 2007 by Danish Fashion Institute and the eating-disorder association LMS and run today by Copenhagen Fashion Week. It requires a minimum age of 16, monetary payment for work, healthy food on jobs over two hours and an LMS health check for every Danish model; breaches lead to a warning, exclusion from fashion week and an entry on a blacklist that is empty today. The signatory list is public; from the catalogue it names 2pm, Bornmodels, Elite Copenhagen, Étoile, Gossip, Heartbreak, Le Management, Legend, LESS, Scoop, Selten, Unique and Vero. It is a voluntary status, not a licence.
08What papers does an EU model need to work in Denmark?
A passport or national ID card is enough: no work permit is needed. For up to 3 months there is nothing to apply for, and for a short job a tax number is issued instead of a CPR number. If you stay longer than 3 months, you apply through SIRI for the free EU residence document (form OD1A, appearing in person at a SIRI office within 30 days), then get a CPR number at a Citizen Service centre with that document, your passport and proof of a permanent address, followed by MitID, the health card and a NemKonto. Before you travel, ask the agency whether it needs a Danish number at all: for a self-employed model with no Danish employer nothing is withheld from the fee.
09Does a non-EU model need a work permit in Denmark?
Yes, with one narrow exception: professional models who work in Denmark for a short period in connection with companies holding significant international fashion shows and fairs are exempt from the work permit for up to 3 working days within 180 days, together or as three separate days; a visa, where your nationality requires one, is still needed. The ordinary schemes are built for salaried jobs: the Pay Limit Scheme needs an annual salary of at least DKK 552,000, and the application fee in 2026 is DKK 6,810; no scheme names models. SIRI answers in writing whether a permit is needed in your case, so ask before you travel.
10What tax does a model pay in Denmark, and is there an artist tax?
A freelance model living in Denmark declares fees as B-indkomst and pays B-skat plus 8% am-bidrag (on B income only from 18); in 2026 state income tax starts with the 12.01% bottom bracket above the DKK 54,100 personal allowance, higher brackets apply from DKK 641,200, and municipal tax comes on top; VAT registration is due above DKK 50,000 of sales a year. There is no artist or model withholding tax for non-residents in Denmark: limited tax liability arises only with employment by a Danish employer or a permanent establishment in Denmark, so a visiting self-employed model owes no Danish tax on a short booking. An employed non-resident without a tax card pays 55%.
11How do you check a Danish model agency, and where can you complain?
Look on the website for a name, a physical address, an e-mail address and the eight-digit CVR number: section 7 of the E-Commerce Act requires them, and a contact form is not enough. Check the CVR number, or the name together with the address, free of charge in the register at datacvr.virk.dk: NORMAL or Aktiv means a live registration, "Under konkurs", "Ophørt" or "Opløst" does not. The VAT number is the CVR number with the prefix DK in VIES, but a small business may have no VAT registration. Check whether the agency is on the charter's signatory list. Be wary of a "scout" writing on Instagram, a casting by webcam or a request for underwear pictures. To complain: Arbejdstilsynet about working conditions and children's work, Forbrugerombudsmanden about misleading marketing and a site without company details, SIRI about permits, the police about sextortion and fraud.
12Where are most model agencies in Denmark?
In Copenhagen: our catalogue has 16 of the 32 Danish agencies there, and three more work in the suburbs of Hellerup, Klampenborg and Albertslund. Aarhus has 4 agencies (Smash Agency, Legend Model and the offices of Le Management and Unique Models), Odense 2 (CC Models, Ewa Talents Management), and one each works in Aalborg, Esbjerg, Herning, Silkeborg, Ebeltoft, Aakirkeby on Bornholm and Tappernøje. In Randers, Kolding, Vejle, Horsens, Viborg and Sønderborg we found no agency office.
13When is Copenhagen Fashion Week?
Twice a year, in January or February and in August. The SS27 season ran from 3 to 7 August 2026, and the next season, AW27, runs from 1 to 5 February 2027; dates for August 2027 had not been announced on the day we checked. Every brand on the schedule must have signed the Danish Fashion Ethical Charter, must file medical certificates for models who are not signed to a Danish mother agency, and Danish models must have gone through the health check. The dates are in our fashion calendar.
