Hellerup, in the municipality of Gentofte just north of Copenhagen, has one agency in the jurgita.com catalogue out of 32 in Denmark: Star Kids, a children's and teen agency that represents children aged 0 to 16 from an office on Strandvejen. The catalogue lists every business that represents models; we do not vouch for them, and each profile shows what we found, good and bad. Star Kids mentions no registration fee and says a fee is paid for every job. The country's main market is Copenhagen, with 16 agencies, and the neighbouring Klampenborg has a second children's agency, 1·kid modelmanagement.

Hellerup for international models

  • As an EU citizen you need no work permit in Denmark: SIRI writes that an EU citizen may freely enter Denmark and begin to work upon arrival, with or without an EU residence document. For up to 3 months there is nothing to apply for; if you stay longer than 3 months, you apply through SIRI for the free EU residence document (form OD1A), which has no expiry date.
  • A tax card needs a CPR number or a tax number. If you work for 3 months or less, you get a tax number instead of a CPR number. If you intend to stay 3 months or more (6 months for EU citizens), you register with the Civil Registration Office in person at a Citizen Service centre with the EU residence document, your passport and proof of a permanent Danish address; International Citizen Service centres are in Copenhagen, Aarhus, Odense, Aalborg, Esbjerg and Sønderborg. Without a tax card an employer withholds 55% of a salary.
  • Fees in Denmark are B-indkomst: tax and the 8% labour-market contribution (am-bidrag) are not deducted from them, the recipient pays them; from 2026 am-bidrag on B income is paid only from the age of 18. A business must register for VAT once taxable sales exceed DKK 50,000 within a calendar year; below that, registration is optional.
  • Denmark has no artist or model withholding tax for non-residents. The Tax Agency's legal guide says limited tax liability arises only with employment by a Danish employer or a foreign employer with a permanent establishment in Denmark, or with an establishment of your own there. Our reading: a self-employed model living abroad who is paid a fee by a Danish agency or client for a few days' work owes no Danish tax on it and declares it at home. We did not read the treaty position for any country, so talk to a tax adviser and ask your home social-security institution about an A1 certificate.
  • If you are not an EU citizen, you need a residence and work permit (application fee for the work schemes DKK 6,810 in 2026). The exemption for models: professional models who work in Denmark for a short period in connection with companies holding significant international fashion shows and fairs are exempt from the work permit for up to 3 working days within 180 days, together or as three separate days; a visa is still needed where your nationality requires one. For other cases SIRI issues a guiding statement in writing.
  • Public payments and tax refunds go to a NemKonto; if you live abroad you can set up a non-Danish account. You can open a Danish bank account only once you have a tax card. An employer reporting a non-resident's pay must have your home-country Tax Identification Number since 2024.
  • No law or association sets the commission in Denmark and no agency publishes one; read the percentage, and the amount it is calculated on, in your contract. No law bans an agency's fees to models: Casablanca Models charges DKK 500 for a test shoot, Cast Agency Denmark a DKK 385 registration fee and JS Total Booking DKK 98 for a profile; the amounts are on the profiles.
  • The Danish Fashion Ethical Charter, run by Copenhagen Fashion Week, requires a model to be 16 (15 with dispensation and an adult), payment for work, and an LMS health check for every Danish model at a charter agency, paid for by the agency. International models at Copenhagen Fashion Week file a medical certificate valid for 2 years, usually paid for by the foreign agency or the model. The next fashion week, AW27, runs from 1 to 5 February 2027.

How this list is made

The list includes every agency that represents models. We check the facts on each agency's own website, in public company registers, on association member lists and in the press, and publish what we find: fees charged to applicants, schools, company status, press reports, history and memberships. We do not vouch for or recommend agencies. No agency pays to be listed and there are no rankings. Last checked: 2026-10-10.

01How many modeling agencies are there in Hellerup?

This catalogue lists 1 agency in Hellerup, including Star Kids. It includes every agency that represents models; we do not vouch for them, and each profile shows the facts we found, good and bad.

02Which modeling agency is in Hellerup?

Star Kids, a children's and teen agency with its office at Strandvejen 58, 1st floor. It is run by the company Star Kids Modelmanagement ApS, CVR 36081740, founded in the Danish company register on 1 September 2014. The boards are boys aged 0 to 12, girls aged 0 to 12 and young fashion for 13 to 16; the agency says it can also book whole families and adult models.

03Does Star Kids charge a registration fee for a child?

The application page we read on 18 October 2026 mentions no registration fee. The agency writes that children aged 1 to 16 are registered through an online form, that children with potential are invited to a personal interview, that a fee is paid for every job and that parents are never obliged to accept a job. No Danish law sets or bans an agency's fees, so ask in writing before you sign whether anything is charged for photos or a profile.

04Does a child under 13 need a permit to model in Denmark?

Yes. Under the order on young people's work, BEK nr 1713 af 18/12/2025, a child under 13 may take part in a shoot or a commercial only with a permit from the Director of Arbejdstilsynet, the Working Environment Authority, granted case by case; since 1 January 2026 the police no longer issue them. Either the company or the parents apply through virk.dk; the child's CPR number is needed, and a foreign child needs a passport copy. The starting point is at most 7 hours a day, and for children aged 6 or under the default answer is a refusal. From 13, shoots are allowed without a permit.

05Which other children's agencies are there around Copenhagen?

In Copenhagen, Le Management Kids represents children aged 0 to 16 without binding contracts, and BASIC CPH has a separate kids site. In Klampenborg, in the same municipality of Gentofte, 1·kid modelmanagement has taken children living in Denmark aged 0 to 14 since 2006. In Albertslund, JS Total Booking registers children and adults in an archive of models and extras and charges DKK 98 for a profile.

06Is a child's modeling fee taxed in Denmark?

A fee is B-income: no tax is withheld and the recipient declares it. From 2026 the 8% labour market contribution (am-bidrag) on B-income is due only from the year a person turns 18. Payment in kind, such as clothes or gift cards, is taxed at its value. A model from abroad on a short booking with no Danish employer owes no Danish tax on the fee; the details are in the Denmark guide.
