Munich for international models
- If you come for a few weeks, the cheapest option is the Deutschlandticket: €63 a month, valid across the MVV network and on local and regional trains throughout Germany. The ordinary monthly ticket for city zone M costs €71.40, a single ticket €4.20 and a day ticket €10.10.
- The airport is in fare zone 5. S1 and S8 trains alternate every 10 minutes, the ride to the main station takes about 40 minutes, and the Airport-City-Day-Ticket for one person costs €17.50.
- Housing in Munich is expensive: the city's rent index, the Mietspiegel 2025, puts the average rent excluding utilities at €15.38 per m². Before you travel, ask the agency to confirm in writing what your accommodation will cost and what will be deducted from your fees.

04Does Munich have a fashion week?
Germany's main fashion week is in Berlin. Munich has Munich Fashion Week in August: in 2026 it ran on 5–11 August at the Marriott Munich City West hotel, and the organisers count 16 shows. On the same days, 8–11 August, the Supreme Women & Men order fair took place at the MTC centre, open to trade visitors only; the next fair is set for 13–16 February 2027. As of 11 October 2026 the date of the next Munich Fashion Week had not been announced.
05What is VELMA and which Munich agencies belong to it?
VELMA (Verband lizenzierter Modelagenturen e. V.) is the German association of model agencies, founded in 1992 and registered in Munich. Its website was offline in October 2026, so we rely on the last published member list (June 2025): it names 11 agencies, three of them from Munich: Louisa Models, Most Wanted Models and Munich Models. The word "licensed" in the name is historical: model agencies in Germany have not needed a licence since 2002.
06Which agencies are there around Munich?

Yes. As an EU citizen you do not need a work permit in Germany; an identity card or passport is enough. A Lithuanian model usually gets there through a mother agency that sends Munich agencies digitals and measurements.
