In short
- The catalogue has one agency in Almere: Daily Models, a model and casting agency with commercial and talent boards.
- The company Daily Models B.V. (KVK 84812680) gives Landdrostdreef 124 in its terms and Randstad 21 5G on its contact page.
- The agency represents models, actors and extras aged 0 to 100.
Daily Models
Almere is the largest city of the province of Flevoland and lies east of Amsterdam. One of the 100 Dutch agencies in our catalogue is here. The country has no licence for model agencies, so the catalogue takes in every business that represents models, and the profiles say what we found.
Daily Models calls itself a model and casting agency, a bridge between clients (photographers, advertising agencies, advertisers) and models, actors and extras. Its site says it represents models aged 0 to 100 and works in advertising and fashion photography, commercials and acting jobs. In the catalogue the agency has commercial and talent boards. It is not a fashion agency that prepares models for the runway: its work is advertising, and it sets no age limits.
Two addresses, one company
The agency's general terms state that Daily Models B.V. is registered with the Chamber of Commerce under number 84812680 at Landdrostdreef 124 in Almere. The contact page gives another address in the same city: Randstad 21 5G. The catalogue shows the address from the contact page. Both are in Almere, not Amsterdam.
Two addresses are no bad sign in themselves: businesses move, and a terms document stays old. Still, before you travel to a meeting, ask where it will be held, and check the company name and KVK number in the contract. The eight-digit number can be checked free of charge in the Chamber of Commerce search; it shows that the business is registered, and nothing more.
If you are registering a child
The agency takes the very youngest too, so parents need to know that in the Netherlands a child under 13 may work on a photo shoot or a film set only with an exemption from the Labour Authority. A child under 7 is allowed at most 2 hours on a school day, waiting and breaks included. The exemption is requested by the client, the producer or a parent, not by the casting agency, so ask before the first job who will do it.
Other markets
- Amsterdam has 50 of the 100 catalogue agencies; 11 of them have a commercial board.
- Hilversum has Hebbes Casting, a casting agency for advertising and television that has worked since 1987.
- The Netherlands: the country guide covers fees, contracts, work by minors and paperwork for foreigners.
What to ask Daily Models
- At which address the meeting will be, and which company will be the party to the contract.
- Whether registration and photos will cost you anything. The police say a reliable agency advances the cost of the first photo session and settles it later against earnings.
- What commission the agency keeps and how soon it pays the fee out. Late payment by clients is a common complaint in the Dutch market.
Natural photos and accurate details are enough for an application. If a stranger wrote to you in the agency's name and proposed a test over a webcam, that would be a sign of a modeling scam: the police say agencies never try models out that way.
