In short
- The catalogue has one agency in Lisse: A&P Model Management (Zuiderkruis 77, KVK 57920583).
- The founding year, 2013, comes from a directory text, not from the agency's own site.
- The site is live, but the model boards are locked or load by script, and we found no dated activity.
A&P Model Management
Lisse is a town in South Holland's bulb-growing region, between Haarlem and Leiden. One of the 100 Dutch agencies in our catalogue is here. A model agency needs no licence in the Netherlands, and in an evaluation commissioned by the government in 2020 respondents said it outright: anyone can start a model agency. So the catalogue lists every business that represents models, and the profiles say what we found, even when that is little.
The site of A&P Model Management gives the address Zuiderkruis 77 and KVK number 57920583. In the catalogue the agency is assigned women's and men's boards. We found the founding year, 2013, in a directory text. The site is live, but its model boards are locked or load by script, so we could not view them, and we came across no dated activity by the agency. We included it because the site is live and carries company details, but that is a thin basis.
How to check an agency about which little is known
- The register. Every Dutch business has an eight-digit KVK number. Enter 57920583 or the name in the Chamber of Commerce's free search and see whether the address matches the one on the site. The number shows that the business exists and says nothing about its work.
- The website. Under the Civil Code it must show the name, address, email and register number. A&P provides these.
- The work. Ask to be shown jobs from the past year and to be told how many models the agency represents now. A locked board is no bad sign in itself: some agencies show their models only to logged-in clients.
- The money. Ask whether registration or photos cost anything. By the police's advice, the agency pays for the first shoot itself and recovers the cost from later earnings.
- The contract. Ask for it in writing and look for the commission, the length of the exclusivity and how it can be ended.
Why it pays to look elsewhere as well
When little is public about an agency, it is sensible to apply to more than one. The Dutch industry's reporting point received more than 120 reports in its first three years, and about half concerned unclear contract arrangements or unpaid invoices. Such trouble does not depend on an agency's size, but terms are easier to compare in a bigger market.
- Amsterdam has 50 agencies, 36 with a women's board and 27 with a men's board.
- Haarlem has five agencies, mostly casting and advertising.
- Hoofddorp has the office of Elite Amsterdam.
- The Hague has five small fashion agencies.
Tax, contracts and paperwork for foreigners are covered in the guide Modeling agencies in the Netherlands.
