The Hague's agencies: five small businesses
The Hague is the city of the government and parliament in South Holland, with the seaside district of Scheveningen. The Dutch fashion week is not held here but in Amsterdam, once a year in September, and half of the country's agencies work there. The five in The Hague are small: several call themselves boutique agencies, and one works with character types for advertising. The Netherlands has no licence for model agencies, and we found no trade association, so the catalogue lists every business that represents models and its profiles record what we could find. The national rules on contracts, tax and minors are in the guide Modeling agencies in the Netherlands.
EvD Agency
EvD Agency is an independent boutique agency founded by Eefje van Daal in Amsterdam in 2007. Its site says it is now based in The Hague, in Scheveningen at the beach. The agency's Instagram profile gives 2008 as the founding year, so its own sources differ by a year. In the catalogue EvD has the most boards in The Hague: women, men, curve, senior and new faces. The agency states that it does not book models for brands that use real fur or are involved in animal abuse. If that matters to you, it is the only one of the five with such a policy.
It's me Model Management
It's me Model Management calls itself a boutique agency founded in 2010, all of whose models are represented exclusively. Its start was described by The Hague blog Stijl 070: in an interview of 22 September 2010 the owner, Marjolein van der Lans, spoke about her new agency, then called Dune Agency, and said she had started a photography business in February and added the model agency in June. The current general terms name the company It's me Model Management B.V., KVK number 91090849, with an office at Saturnusstraat 60. In the catalogue the agency has a women's board only and, in its own words, takes only women who are 18 or older.
The agency's site says it is connected with The Models Health Pledge. That was a voluntary agreement on models' health signed in 2016; according to a report dated 1 December 2025, the initiative stopped in 2025. So the line shows the agency's stance, but nobody supervises it today.
Jenphia Models
Jenphia Models (Laan van Meerdervoort 70, KVK 60034033) says it connects talent with brands and looks for new talent. In the catalogue it has women's and talent boards. On its application page the agency invites candidates aged 14 to 22, says it does not ask for payments for registration and warns about people who pose as its representatives. It is the only agency in The Hague that openly invites minors, so the section for parents below concerns it first.
Linda Models
Linda Models was founded in the Netherlands in 2010 and represents models of all sizes: the site has women, curvy and men boards. On its contact page the agency says it is based in The Hague and gives KVK number 88852571, and of the address it gives the city only. It works by appointment and holds no open calls, so there is nowhere to turn up uninvited. Before a meeting, ask to be sent the address and the company name in writing.
Mooi Echt!
Mooi Echt calls itself The Hague's model agency with real people. Founded in 2017, it works mainly with "ordinary people" models and has a commercial board in the catalogue. The site says registration is without obligation for both sides and that a client can book a model from EUR 195. That amount is the price to the client, not the model's fee: ask how much of it reaches the model before you accept a first job. The company Mooi Echt! B.V. (KVK 97806943) works from Stadhouderslaan 9.
How The Hague's agencies differ
| Agency | Founded | Who it works with | What it says about taking people on |
|---|---|---|---|
| EvD Agency | 2007 (in Amsterdam) | Women, men, curve, senior, new faces | No work for brands that use real fur |
| It's me Model Management | 2010 | Women | 18 and older only; exclusive representation |
| Jenphia Models | – | Women, talent | Candidates aged 14 to 22; no payment for registration |
| Linda Models | 2010 | Women, curvy, men | By appointment only, no open calls |
| Mooi Echt | 2017 | "Ordinary people" for advertising | Registration without obligation; from EUR 195 for the client |
No law or association sets the commission in the Netherlands, so only the contract shows it. The only public pointer we found in the country is an online booking platform that keeps 30% of what the client pays and describes 20% to clients as the "standard agency fee". That is no norm: your contract has to show the percentage and what it is calculated on.
If the candidate is not yet 18
Jenphia Models invites applicants from 14, so parents should know the limits. In a school week a 13- or 14-year-old may work at most 7 hours a day and 12 hours a week, on no more than 3 days, and not between 23:00 and 08:00; rehearsals, breaks and waiting count. For a 15-year-old the daily limit is 8 hours. Young people of 16 and 17 may work up to 9 hours per shift and do no night work. The parents answer for the rules as well as the client. The industry's voluntary promises of "no nudity under 18" and "no modelling jobs under 16" never became law, so put those points into the contract yourself.
Where else to look
- Amsterdam has 50 of the 100 catalogue agencies and the fashion week in September; EvD Agency started there too.
- Rotterdam has four agencies, among them the commercial agency The Specials with a kids board.
- Haarlem has five agencies, mostly casting and advertising.
Before you sign
- Send plain digitals and accurate measurements; you should not have to pay to apply anywhere, and Jenphia Models says so outright.
- An agency's website must show its name, address, email and KVK number: the Dutch Civil Code requires it. You can check the number free of charge in the Chamber of Commerce search.
- Read in the contract the commission, the length of the exclusivity, how the contract ends and how earnings are split if the agency places you abroad as your mother agency.
- If someone writes in an agency's name from a personal account and asks for money or revealing photos, that is a sign of a modeling scam. Phone the office yourself.
