In short
- The catalogue has three agencies in Utrecht: Belle & Co, FIC Model Management and ID Casting.
- ID Casting charges a one-off EUR 75 registration fee which, it says, is settled only against the first assignment, and sells trainings and portfolio shoots.
- FIC Model Management has no website, office address or KVK number: it works through an Instagram account and represents men from 1.82 to 1.94 m tall.
- Belle & Co's models promise to stay away from fast fashion, fossil fuels and the meat industry.
Three Utrecht agencies, three different businesses
Utrecht is the capital of the province of Utrecht in the middle of the country and one of the four largest Dutch cities. Fashion clients and most agencies are in Amsterdam, which has 50 of the catalogue's 100 agencies. Utrecht has three, and none is a conventional fashion agency with women's, men's and new faces boards. There is no licence for agencies in the Netherlands, and a KVK number means only registration with the Chamber of Commerce, so the catalogue lists every business that represents models and says what we found about each. The national rules are in the guide Modeling agencies in the Netherlands.
Belle & Co
Belle & Co (business name Studio Belle & Co, Alkhof 9, KVK 58375139) calls itself an agency of "green models" for sustainable brands. Its site says that its models promise to stay away from fast fashion, fossil fuels and the meat industry. The agency also writes that its models represent a wide range of beauty and break the usual rules about gender, size, age and skin colour. In the catalogue it has women's, men's and talent boards.
For a model the promise has a practical side: by turning down fast-fashion jobs you narrow the range of clients you can work for. Before you join, ask how the promise is written into the contract and whether it covers work you would get outside this agency.
FIC Model Management
FIC Model Management (the letters stand for Fashion Is Cannibalistic) has no website and works only through an Instagram account. There it presents itself as a male model agency in the Netherlands representing models from 1.82 to 1.94 m tall. The agent and photographer is Armando Branco. The account is active: in September and October 2026 it introduced a new model and published a shoot made with JDO Academy in Amsterdam for REY magazine, with seven of the agency's models.
The account gives no office address and no KVK number, so we could check neither. Dutch law requires a business to show its name, address, email and register number on its website, and the KVK number must also be on invoices and quotes. So before you agree to be represented, ask for the KVK number and a written contract. When the agent is also the photographer, find out in advance whether you will have to pay for test shoots.
ID Casting
ID Casting (KVK 17259326) is a casting and production agency: it produces photo and film shoots and says it has a file of 15,500 professional models, extras and actors. In the catalogue it has commercial and talent boards. The director is Bo Vrinten.
The sign-up page states a one-off registration fee of EUR 75 which, it says, is settled only against the first assignment. It is the highest registration amount among the agencies named in this guide. Applicants without photos are pointed to the agency's own paid portfolio shoots, and beginners are sold trainings under the name Casting Academy: the course Casting Fundamentals, the one-to-one Casting Business Program and the Young Talent Program for parents. The director gives the trainings herself. Ask the prices of the shoots and the trainings before you enrol and weigh them against what you could earn: in a file of 15,500 people, not everyone gets a booking.
Fees: what the law and the police say
The Dutch Waadi act bans asking a job seeker for anything in return for job placement (article 3). The rule is written for employment contracts, most models work self-employed, and no official text says how it applies to model agencies. So treat a registration fee as a fact with an amount, not as an offence. The police offer a simpler yardstick: a reliable agency advances the cost of the first photo session and settles it later against earnings. There is a known bad example too: in 2020 the consumer programme Radar reported on people who each paid one "agency" EUR 120 in registration fees and never heard from it again.
| Agency | Type of business | Who it works with | Costs for the applicant |
|---|---|---|---|
| Belle & Co | Model agency for sustainable brands | Women, men, talent | Ask for the terms in writing |
| FIC Model Management | Male model agency on an Instagram account | Men, 1.82 to 1.94 m | Ask for the KVK number and a contract |
| ID Casting | Casting and production agency with a file | Models, extras, actors | EUR 75 registration; paid shoots and trainings |
Agencies around Utrecht and the main market
- Amsterdam has half of the catalogue's agencies; FIC's models shoot there as well.
- IJsselstein, a town south-west of Utrecht, is where MM Models gives its address.
- Schoonhoven is where Be-Pretty Models is established, although its site presents it as an Utrecht agency.
- Hilversum has Hebbes Casting, an old casting agency for television and advertising.
Before you register
- First decide whether you want representation or a place in a file. An agency that represents you puts you forward to clients itself; in a file the client picks from thousands of profiles.
- Plain digitals are enough for an application. A paid shoot is not a condition for becoming a model, whoever offers it.
- Ask for the contract or the terms in writing and find in them the commission, the payment term and what happens to the registration fee if you get no booking.
- Check the business by its KVK number in the Chamber of Commerce search, and take it as a warning if you are not given one. Other signs are described in the entry on modeling scams.
