In short
- The catalogue has one agency in IJsselstein: MM Models (Hogebiezendijk 66B, KVK 84972084), with a women's board.
- The agency's terms count travel time from Amsterdam, and disputes go to the Amsterdam court.
- When you work through an international agency you need to know your tax status: from 1 January 2027 the Dutch tax office enforces the rules on false self-employment in full.
MM Models
IJsselstein is a town in the province of Utrecht, south-west of the city of Utrecht. One of the 100 Dutch agencies in our catalogue is here. Because the country has no licence written for model agencies, the catalogue takes in every business that represents models, and the profiles say what we found.
MM Models presents itself as an international, personalised model management based in the Netherlands. In the catalogue it has a women's board. Its documents give Hogebiezendijk 66B in IJsselstein as the address for complaints, and the catalogue treats it as the office address; the KVK number is 84972084. We found no dated press reports or other facts about the agency, so its profile is short, and its own terms say the most about it.
What the agency's terms show
The terms count travel time from Amsterdam and name the Amsterdam court for disputes. This shows that the agency's work is tied to Amsterdam, the country's main market. For a model this is a practical matter: ask where the meeting and the castings will be, and whether travel time and costs are paid from where you live or from Amsterdam.
The word "international" usually means that the agency places the model with agencies in other countries and acts as a mother agency. In that case the contract should state the main commission and also the share the agency takes from work abroad. No law or association sets these percentages in the Netherlands.
Tax status: a question to ask at the start
Most models in the Netherlands work self-employed and send their own invoices. The tax office's handbook says that someone who works for a third party through an intermediary and has no business of their own can count as a fictitious employee; the agency then runs payroll and withholds wage tax. In 2026 the tax office still imposes no default fines for such breaches but can correct assessments, and on 1 January 2027 the transition period ends.
- If you invoice as a self-employed person, the general VAT rate is 21%. Small businesses established in the Netherlands with a turnover of no more than EUR 20,000 a year can use an exemption.
- If the agency puts you on payroll, 35.75% is withheld in 2026 from income up to EUR 38,883.
- You will need a BSN number for tax. An EU citizen staying less than 4 months gets one free of charge in the non-residents register (RNI).
The agency should tell you which of these applies to you before the first job. There is more on this in the guide Modeling agencies in the Netherlands.
