Elite Amsterdam
Hoofddorp is the main town of the municipality of Haarlemmermeer in North Holland, south-west of Amsterdam and close to Schiphol airport. One of the 100 Dutch agencies in our catalogue is here. It carries Amsterdam's name, but the catalogue lists agencies where their office is. There is no licence for model agencies in the Netherlands, so the catalogue lists every business that represents models, and the profiles say what we found.
Elite Amsterdam belongs to a network that calls itself the world's leading talent network, active since 1972. The Dutch office's history is shorter. Faces Online published an interview with the director, Suzanne Pots, on 31 January 2018: she said that she and her husband built the agency Fresh Model Management over seven years, that Elite World then took it over and that it became Elite Model Management Amsterdam. In the catalogue the agency has women's and new faces boards.
The agency's site says the office is in Hoofddorp (Burgemeester van Stamplein 288), with a mailing address at Herengracht 124 in Amsterdam. On its application page the agency states that its scouts and agents never request payment for recruitment and never ask for nude or lingerie photos. This is useful to know if someone writes to you claiming to be an Elite scout: if that person asks for money or for such photos, it is not the agency.
The 2012 court ruling
This office's name appears in a court case about a model's contract. The Guardian reported on 3 February 2012 that Ananda Marchildon, winner of Holland's Next Top Model 2008, was suing Elite: she said she had received only 10,000 euros of a promised 75,000 euro contract and had been dropped because her hips were 2 cm too wide. NOS reported on 7 March 2012 that she won her case against the agencies Elite and MTA. The court held that the agencies could not demand a 90 cm hip measurement because it was 92 cm when the contract was signed, and ordered them to pay the remaining 65,000 euros of the prize. According to NOS, Elite was considering an appeal.
The case concerns the earlier management of the Amsterdam office, before the founders of Fresh Model Management took it over. The lesson holds for any contract all the same: the measurements required of you should be written into the contract as they are on the day you sign, and a guaranteed amount needs a clear payment schedule.
The agency's profile also carries a 2018 press report on how test shoots with under-age models were handled; we do not retell it here, so read it on the profile together with the agency's reply.
If the candidate is not yet 18
In the national model survey of 2018, 31% of the models were minors, so parents should know the limits. In a school week a 13- or 14-year-old may work at most 7 hours a day and 12 hours a week, and a 15-year-old up to 8 hours a day. Young people of 16 and 17 work up to 9 hours per shift and do no night work. The law sets neither a minimum age for the runway nor a body mass index; the voluntary Model's Health Pledge, which promoted such promises, stopped in 2025. Go to the first meeting together with your child and ask to take a draft of the contract home.
