In short
- The catalogue has one agency in Weert: Division Models, founded in 2015.
- Its site gives only a postal address in Weert and an e-mail address; there is no office address for visitors.
- In 2017 the press wrote about its offices in Roermond and Amsterdam, which are no longer on the site.
Division Models
Weert is a city in the west of the province of Limburg. Our catalogue has one agency here out of 100 in the country. The catalogue lists every business that represents models; we do not vouch for them, and each profile shows what we found, good and bad.
The site of Division Models says its story began in 2015, when the agency was founded by Guido Wolters. It calls itself "the first truly independent model agency in the Netherlands" and says it works with more than 300 partner agencies around the world. Both statements are the agency's own words, which we did not check against other sources. In the catalogue it has five boards: women, men, curve, new faces and talent. That is how a fashion agency is built, not a commercial file "from children to seniors" of the kind more common in the south of the country.
The address: what we know and what we do not
This record is weaker than others in the catalogue for one reason: the address. The agency's contact page gives only a postal address in Weert and an e-mail address. A postal address is not an office, so the catalogue prints no street, and the city is taken from what the agency itself publishes. The KVK number, 62406884, comes not from the agency's site but from a copy of the trade register on a third-party site.
The agency used to have physical offices. The Midden-Limburg business paper Zakenblad wrote on 16 August 2017 that Division Model Management was opening an office in Roermond, at the Looskade, and holding an open casting on 27 August 2017. The same article mentions an Amsterdam office of that time. Neither is on the current site.
For a model this means something simple: your first contact with this agency will be at a distance. The Dutch police warn that real agencies never try out models through a webcam, so do not agree to such a request, whoever's name it comes in.
The wider background is this. A 2020 evaluation of the sector commissioned by the Ministry of Health says that in the Netherlands anyone can call themselves a scout or start a model agency, and that no requirements are set for agencies or scouts even though they work with minors. That makes the address, the company name and the register number the few things you can check yourself, and it is worth doing before you sign.
Other markets
- Roermond has Inside Out Models, a commercial agency that publishes open castings.
- Eindhoven has Cachet Models, a commercial agency with an office in the city centre.
- Amsterdam has 50 of the 100 catalogue agencies, including most fashion agencies with new faces boards.
How to get started
- When you write to the agency, ask straight away where and with whom a meeting would be held if your photos interest it.
- Ask for the company name and KVK number to be written into the contract: in the Netherlands a business must show the number on its website, letters and invoices.
- Ask which foreign agencies it would offer you to and how the commission is then split.
- Send no photos other than simple digitals; how to spot a fraud is explained on the page about a modeling scam.
- The country's rules are in the guide Modeling agencies in the Netherlands.
