In short

- Model Support does not take beginners, children or teens under 18: only experienced adult models may apply.
What kind of agencies work in Haarlem
Haarlem is the capital of the province of North Holland, a short train or car ride from Amsterdam, where half of the catalogue's Dutch agencies are based. Haarlem's five are not a smaller copy of Amsterdam: the business here is casting for advertising and television rather than fashion weeks. A model agency needs no licence in the Netherlands (the permit for private job placement ended on 1 September 2003), and a Chamber of Commerce (KVK) number shows only that a business is registered. So the catalogue includes every business that represents models and says what we found about each: fees charged to applicants, terms, company details and press reports. The general rules are in the guide Modeling agencies in the Netherlands.
MULTA Casting
MULTA Casting calls itself a broadly oriented commercial casting agency. It casts and books fashion and commercial models, actors, extras and presenters, and a separate unit, MULTA Kids, works with children up to and including 13. The office is at Energieplein 9. The agency's terms for talents (version of July 2025) say MULTA Casting is a trade name of Multa Media B.V. (KVK 34058512). Under article 6.1 of those terms the talent owes the agency a 20% mediation fee on what the client pays, and administration costs are also deducted at payout. Few Dutch agencies state a percentage in a public document, so read it before you register and ask how much the administration costs are.
Ida Models
Ida Models is the same company's name for fashion bookings: the footer of its site says it is a trade name of MULTA Media b.v., with the same KVK number, 34058512. The agency describes itself as a sister company of MULTA Casting that deals exclusively with experienced high-end models. In the catalogue it has women's and men's boards. For a beginner this means it is not the place for a first application: it looks for people who already have work behind them.
Model Support
Model Support has worked since 2006 and says on its site that it has been in business for more than 20 years. It mediates between clients and models, actors, children, character types, presenters, make-up artists and stylists. The agency itself names ABN AMRO, Philips, Heineken, Vodafone, BMW and KLM among its clients. It receives visitors by appointment only in De Koepel, Haarlem's former prison (Koepelplein 1), and prints KVK number 34242551 on its contact page. In the catalogue it has women's, men's, kids, commercial, talent and sport boards, but the door is closed to newcomers for now: the site announces a registration stop for beginners, children and teens under 18, and only experienced adult models with an up-to-date portfolio may apply, by email. That page mentions no fee, but it points people who want to build a portfolio to two named photographers. If you go to them, you pay the photographer for the shoot, so ask the price first.
kleyn & groot Casting and The Seniors
kleyn & groot Casting is a casting agency for commercials and photography jobs that has worked in the centre of Haarlem (Bakenessergracht 69) since 1996. In 2001 it set up a separate unit, The Seniors, for models aged 50 and over. Both are run by Nienke Wichers and Nicole Elsenburg. The site states that the agency charges EUR 25 for registration and for the photos taken in its studio, and that the photos are used only to present the model to clients.
The agency's site looks as if it has not been updated for a long time: it works only without a secure connection and still carries a 2006 copyright line and a link to the defunct social network Hyves. The agency says it is a member of the trade association BMCB, but on 12 October 2026 the association's domain, bmcb.nl, was for sale. Before you pay the EUR 25, phone and ask what jobs the agency has had in recent months.
Not Your Mother Agency
Not Your Mother Agency is the smallest of the five: a boutique management agency whose site currently shows four models. It was founded by Samuel Dobrowolski, who has worked in the modelling business for over 20 years: he began in Amsterdam, later worked in New York and returned to Amsterdam. The site says models pay a standard 20% agency fee and that there are no additional model costs or hidden fees. The agency calls itself NYMA Amsterdam, but the address on its legal details page is in Haarlem, at Zomerstraat 5, with KVK number 91027438. That is why the catalogue lists it under Haarlem.
Fees and who the agencies work with, compared
| Agency | Who it works with | What the model pays (per the agency's own documents) |
|---|---|---|
| MULTA Casting | Fashion and commercial models, actors, extras, presenters; children up to 13 (MULTA Kids) | A 20% mediation fee on the client's payment, plus administration costs |
| Ida Models | Experienced fashion models, women and men | Same company as MULTA Casting; ask for the terms in writing |
| Model Support | Experienced adult models, actors and character types only | The application page mentions no fee |
| kleyn & groot Casting / The Seniors | Character types for advertising; models aged 50 and over | EUR 25 for registration and studio photos |
| Not Your Mother Agency | A small, select group of fashion models | A 20% agency fee, no additional costs |
No law or association sets the commission in the Netherlands, so the only thing to compare is what agencies write themselves. The Waadi act bans asking a job seeker for anything in return for job placement, but it is written for employment, and no official text says how it applies to self-employed models. The police give a more practical test: a reliable agency advances the cost of the first photo session and settles it later against earnings.
Haarlem and the Amsterdam market
The clients and castings of Haarlem's agencies are mostly outside the city itself. Not Your Mother Agency trades under Amsterdam's name, and Model Support names clients of national scale. If you are looking for a fashion agency with a new faces board, there is more choice in Amsterdam. Close by, in the municipality of Haarlemmermeer, the catalogue has three more agencies: Elite Amsterdam has its office in Hoofddorp, Euromodel, founded in 1967, works in Lijnden, and KNOWN Model Management is in Badhoevedorp. South of Haarlem, A&P Model Management is registered in Lisse.
Before you apply
- Decide what you are looking for. MULTA Casting and kleyn & groot Casting collect people for advertising and television; Ida Models and Not Your Mother Agency are for fashion work, but both want experience or take very few people.
- Take plain digitals in daylight. Model Support also asks for an up-to-date portfolio.
- Open the agency's profile in the catalogue and check the KVK number in the Chamber of Commerce's free search. MULTA Casting and Ida Models share a number because they are one company.
- Ask in writing what will be deducted from your fee and when it is paid out. Late payment by clients is a common complaint in the Dutch market.
- If a "scout" writes to you and proposes a test over a webcam, treat it as a sign of a modeling scam: the police say agencies never try models out that way.
