Zeeland is a village in the north-east of the province of North Brabant; it shares only its name with the province of Zeeland by the sea. Space Model Management is a fashion agency in a village, and that is not a mistake. Its site says that since 2017 the agency has been run by a team with experience in fashion, styling, photography and health. In 2023 it bought a building in the village of Zeeland and turned it into a home with a photo studio and the agency. The address is Puttelaar 37, and the legal name is Space Modelmanagement V.O.F., that is, a general partnership. The agency says of itself that it stands for personal management with good worldwide connections.
In the catalogue it has three boards: women, men and new faces. There is no commercial, kids or talent board, so the profile is narrow and clear. Judging by the preparation programme and the talk of worldwide connections, the agency looks for young people it prepares for work beyond the Netherlands as well.
Space Academy and young models
The site describes Space Academy: a free preparation programme for models selected by the agency, from the age of 11. Candidates are asked to send three non-professional photos. Both points favour the applicant. There is nothing to pay for the preparation, and nobody asks for a professional shoot before selection.
Eleven is a very early age, so parents should know what is allowed in the Netherlands. Children under 13 may work only with an exemption from the Labour Authority for cultural work. Preparation and work are not the same thing, but ask the agency from what age it offers a model to clients. The country's fashion sector had a voluntary arrangement: no modelling jobs under 16. That was a promise, not law, and the pledge it came from was ended in 2025.
