In short
- Our catalogue lists 50 agencies in Amsterdam out of 100 in the Netherlands, and 17 more in twelve nearby places that have their own pages.
- The catalogue lists every business that represents models, and we do not vouch for them. Profiles show fees too: Bullet Models charges €19.95 for a profile that clients can see, Moederannecasting €30 or €50 on registration, ZAZA Casting €15, and EGO'S Models €72.60 a year for photos on its website.
- We have an office address for 35 of the 50 agencies: 10 are on the canal belt and the streets beside it, 6 in West, 5 in the 1013 postcode area with the Houthavens, 4 in the old centre and 4 in Noord.
- The oldest names, by their own account, are Ulla Models and Moederannecasting (both 1978), Thea Meulenberg Casting (1980), De Boekers (1983) and Favourite Models (1985).
- Amsterdam Fashion Week is held once a year, in September; the 2026 edition ran from 1 to 5 September.
This page covers only what is specific to Amsterdam. The absence of a licence, what the law says about fees, tax, rules for minors and papers are covered in the guide Modeling agencies in the Netherlands.
Where Amsterdam's agencies are
The Netherlands has neither a licence nor a register for model agencies, and we found no association of them, so the catalogue lists every business that represents models. That includes agencies that charge applicants a registration, profile or photo fee, casting agencies that keep their own file of models next to actors and extras, and agencies whose websites give no address or company number. We do not vouch for them or recommend them: each agency's profile shows what we found, good and bad. There you will see fees charged to applicants with their amounts, the commission where the agency states it, the company name and its number at the Chamber of Commerce (KVK) where we found one, press reports and history. A KVK number shows only that a business exists.
We have an office address for 35 of the 50 Amsterdam agencies. By postcode and street they are spread as follows:
| Part of the city | Agencies | Streets |
|---|---|---|
| Canal belt and the streets beside it (1015 to 1017) | 10: Mouna Models, The Composers, The Movement Models, Platform Agency, Micha Models, Innocence Models, Moederannecasting, Inbetween Models, Bloom Management, Republic Men | Singel, Herengracht, Prinsengracht, Spiegelgracht, Weteringschans, Korte Leidsedwarsstraat |
| Old centre (1012) | 4: Ulla Models, Touché Models, MaxMen, Elvis Models | Rokin 69 (three agencies), Warmoesstraat |
| Postcode 1013, with the Houthavens | 5: IKON Model Management, The Pack Models, Skins Model Management, Shootz, De Boekers | Haparandaweg, Haparandadam, Koivistokade, Moermanskkade (as the agency spells it); Haarlemmer Houttuinen |
| West (1051 to 1056) | 6: 2R Model Management, Matt Faces, SUPER Model Management, RICHESMGMT, VEIN, PARKER MGMT | Bos en Lommerplein, Cliffordstraat, De Clercqstraat, Sanderijnstraat, Krelis Louwenstraat, Coppelstockstraat |
| Noord (1031 and 1032) | 4: Models at Work, EGO'S Models, Hip4Kidz, ZAZA Casting | Overhoeksplein (A'DAM Toren), Spadinalaan, Papaverweg |
| Eastern harbour area (1019) | 3: A Models Amsterdam, Tulip Models, Dutch Casting Agency | Veembroederhof, Veemkade, Hijskraanstraat |
| Elsewhere | 3: New Generation Model Management, JR Model Management, APL Models | Weesperstraat (1018), Kingsfordweg (1043), Ethekwini in Zuidoost (1103) |
Bloom Management and Republic Men are in the same building on the Korte Leidsedwarsstraat, in different units, and Hip4Kidz and ZAZA Casting are both on the Papaverweg in Noord. Models at Work has its office in the A'DAM Toren. The Movement Models on the Herengracht and The Pack Models on the Haparandadam receive visitors by appointment only.
Fifteen agencies are not in the table because their websites print no office address: Amsterdam Model Agency, Brooks Modeling Agency, Bullet Models, CODE Management, Favourite Models, LET IT GO Management, Lis Rutten Agency, Mix Models, Moxie Models, Thea Meulenberg Casting, The Faces, The Troopers, VDM Agency, Volks Management Studio and Young Model Management. Some say why: the contact page of Brooks Modeling Agency says its team works remotely, CODE Management gives only an email address, and Thea Meulenberg Casting names only the city. For LET IT GO Management and Lis Rutten Agency, Amsterdam as the city comes from the models.com directory.
By board, 36 agencies have a women's board, 27 a men's board, 19 a new faces board, 11 a commercial board, 10 a talent board, 8 a kids board, 6 a curve board, 5 a senior board and 2 a sport board. You will find agencies by board on the pages women, men, new faces, commercial, talent, kids, curve, senior and sport.
Long-established fashion agencies and the Max Models group
Ulla Models says it was founded in 1978 and was Amsterdam's first modeling agency. Its own site says that in 2024 the agency Future Faces joined it and that the two merged under the Ulla Models name. Its contact page says Ulla Models Nederland is part of Max Models B.V., and the office is at Rokin 69, the same address as Touché Models and MaxMen. A customer story published by the payments company SimpledCard describes Max Models as a group of three modelling agencies (Max Models, Touché Models and Ulla Models) with the influencer and PR agency L'AGENCY, headquartered in Amsterdam and with a staff of 25. The company directory Creditsafe lists Max Models B.V. as founded in 2006.
Inside the group the work is divided. Touché Models represents women only; its director is Veerle Gorter, whom the Ulla Models site names as that agency's general manager. Men are sent to MaxMen, and applicants who do not meet the requirements are pointed to the related site The Specials. Ulla Models also says it signed The Model's Health Pledge, a voluntary code that stopped in 2025.
De Boekers has represented male and female fashion models since 1983; the company De Boekers B.V. is listed by Creditsafe as founded that year. Favourite Models says it has worked since 1985 as a boutique agency for girls in the fashion market. Its site presents Emilie Bouwman and a project on the legacy of the designer Frank Govers, but it shows no models gallery, address or phone, and its copyright line is from 2023.
Platform Agency is the former Paparazzi Model Management. Het Parool reported on 5 May 2021 that the American Sarah Keller started Paparazzi Pepperoni, an agency for models and photographers, with a colleague in 1995 and went on alone with Paparazzi Model Management in Amsterdam in 1996. According to the paper she spent years managing the careers of Doutzen Kroes and Anne-Marie van Dijk. She died on 21 April 2021 aged 53, and the creative director Mo Karadag took over as director; the agency then had 45 models on its board, among them Rianne van Rompaey, Saskia de Brauw and Imaan Hammam. The agency's Facebook page announced that Paparazzi Models would become Platform Agency at the turn of 2021 and 2022, and the site now lists offices in Amsterdam and Madrid.
Elite Amsterdam is not among these 50 agencies: its office is in Hoofddorp, with only a mailing address on the Herengracht, so you will find it on the Hoofddorp page. The director Suzanne Pots told Faces Online in January 2018 that she and her husband had built Fresh Model Management over seven years before Elite World took it over and it became Elite Model Management Amsterdam. An earlier chapter ended in court: NOS reported on 7 March 2012 that Ananda Marchildon, winner of Holland's Next Top Model 2008, won her case against the agencies Elite and MTA, and that the court ordered them to pay the remaining €65,000 of her prize. On its application page the agency states that its scouts and agents never request payment for recruitment.
The profiles of some of the large agencies also carry press reports about how test shoots with under-age models were handled. We do not retell them here; read them on the profiles.
Boutique agencies
More than ten Amsterdam agencies call themselves boutique agencies: a short board, and a founder who was often a model or a scout. The catalogue facts for each are below, in order of founding.
Founded from 2006 to 2014
- A Models Amsterdam was established in 2006 by the married couple Kim Hamersma and Radouane el Ouardi and says it manages every model exclusively itself. The page "the Champs" on its site lists models and the brands they worked for: Yoni Tjin (Gucci, Miu Miu), Laurijn Bijnen (Isabel Marant, Chanel) and Estelle Nehring (Balmain).
- Micha Models was founded in 2006 by the former model Micha Emmering-Krijger, who started her career in Paris at 16. Het Parool reported on 13 October 2014 that the agency's discovery Maartje Verhoef, then 17, walked 66 shows during the international fashion weeks, more than any other model in the world; the founder then ran the agency from her living room and represented about twenty girls.
- CODE Management was founded in 2007 by Marit Simons. Het Parool reported on 3 December 2014 that she scouted Imaan Hammam at Amsterdam Centraal Station in 2010, and NRC wrote on 3 April 2009 that Nimue Smit had agreed with the agency and her agencies in Milan, Paris and New York that she would finish school first.
- Bloom Management was founded in 2009 according to its models.com profile, which calls it a boutique model management and mother agency; the ModelGlance directory names Anneriet van Schaijk as the founder. English Wikipedia lists Bloom as the mother agency of Daphne Groeneveld.
- Elvis Models was launched in 2011 and, by its own site, is founded and owned by Jord Weldam and Ilona van Nijburg. The site is live, but its footer says 2019 and we found no dated sign of activity later than 2021, so check whether it still takes on new models.
- Brooks Modeling Agency was founded in 2012 by John Brooks, who was born on St. Maarten, according to the event page of the Amsterdam venue offbeat; the same page gives it offices in Amsterdam, Milan and Paris. Its news section lists the Louis Vuitton Fall-Winter 2026 men's campaign with Fernando Cabral.
- New Generation Model Management was founded by Jordy Maarseveen, a former musical actor and model, with his partner Sven Franken. The English version of its site says it opened in December 2012 and the Dutch version says December 2014. It has a Curvy and Plus Size department.
- Innocence Models was founded in 2013 and says it represents 42 models who work across four continents, with headquarters in Amsterdam and an office in Antwerp.
- The Movement Models: Creditsafe lists the company as founded in 2014, while Het Parool wrote on 16 August 2020 that the co-owner Robbie Baauw had started the agency from home three and a half years earlier, to represent models whom other agencies turned down over a few centimetres. Vogue Nederland ran its Vogue's Model Search with the agency in 2024, choosing nine people from more than a thousand entries. The agency says it guided the contestants of Holland's Next Top Model and represents the winners of the last three seasons.
Four more agencies give no founding year. Tulip Models was founded by the former international fashion model Sanna Millitz Meijer after 15 years in the industry; it manages a small group of women only and has a separate curvy board. SUPER Model Management was founded by Sebastiaan van Heusden, a former model: by his own site he built SUPER for five years, spent two years at another Amsterdam agency and has now reopened it and runs it independently. Mouna Models was founded by Zekja de Moel, who started as a freelance model scout; Numéro Netherlands wrote on 3 July 2025 about its project The Collective, for which the photographer Rogier Alexander shot 30 of its models without styling, hair or make-up. Mix Models says its mission is a more diverse face in the modelling world and that it deliberately keeps its number of models small.
Founded since 2017
- Moxie Models was founded in 2017 by the models Marielle Macville and Xandra van Rooijen, according to its models.com profile. The founders write that many of the models they scout are still at school or studying, so school always comes first.
- Inbetween Models: JFK magazine wrote on 15 July 2018 that it was a new agency founded by the model Terry Groenen for in-between sizes. The agency says it will never ask its models to go on a diet or follow a strict workout schedule.
- LET IT GO Management was launched in 2018 by Lou Renard as a hybrid agency operating from Berlin and Amsterdam. It calls itself a mother agency and has the boards Mainboard, New faces, Development and Sports.
- Skins Model Management was founded in June 2019 by Ferry Korver and names transparency and diversity as its core values. It has separate Curve and New Faces boards.
- The Composers started in 2019 as The Fashion Composers: Harper's Bazaar Nederland wrote on 30 January 2019 about the Dutch National Ballet ballerinas Hannah de Klein and Pascalle Paerel launching a model agency for dancers. It now works between Amsterdam and Madrid, represents dancers, models and movement directors and has a dance casting department; the current site names only Pascalle Paerel as founder.
- Lis Rutten Agency was founded in 2020 by the former model Lis Rutten, who began by looking for unusual faces in the streets. The agency says it worked with Gucci, Balenciaga and Dior soon after its start; that is its own statement, and we found no independent source for it.
- IKON Model Management says it has offices in Amsterdam and Barcelona, and its boards are Image, Women and Development. The company Ikon Model Management B.V. was registered on 29 January 2025, according to Chamber of Commerce data published on drimble.nl.
- The Pack Models was founded in 2026 according to its models.com profile. Its site names no founders and says it welcomes both new and experienced models.
Three more describe themselves through their founders. PARKER MGMT is owned by Ilona van Nijburg, who writes that she started as a freelance scout and ran her first agency for ten years before setting up PARKER. VEIN is a casting and management agency founded by Leendert Sonnevelt and Paul de Groot; besides casting for clients, with work listed by year from 2021 to 2026, it keeps its own board. Volks Management Studio says it was founded by former models turned agents and works as a model agency, casting studio and scouting agency; its news section mentions models' work for the Y-3 and Issey Miyake Fall-Winter 2026 collections.
Men's agencies
Twenty-seven Amsterdam agencies have a men's board, and four of them represent men only.
- MaxMen is the men's agency of the Max Models group at Rokin 69. It looks for young men of 184 to 191 cm aged 15 to 35, and its general terms set a minimum age of 18 for bookings involving nudity.
- Republic Men, run by the company Republic B.V., says it works exclusively with a select group of male models.
- RICHESMGMT was founded by the fashion photographer Philip Riches and works between Amsterdam and London; its site prints both a Dutch KVK number and a UK company number. Its boards are Image, Mature, Development and Special.
- The Troopers was founded by Sjaak Pul in 2018 and says it is the mother agent of all its models. Vogue Nederland wrote on 13 July 2022 that Pul scouted the model Timo Pan while he was working as a scaffolder, and that Pan later closed the Givenchy show in Paris.
Commercial, real-people and casting agencies
Eleven agencies in the catalogue have a commercial board and ten a talent board. Several of them are casting agencies that keep their own file of models and commercial models alongside actors and extras, and this is the group in which most of the fees charged to applicants are found.
- Dutch Casting Agency says it was founded in 1995 and is the largest casting agency in the Netherlands, with a file of more than 40,000 models, actors, extras and hostesses; the company behind it was incorporated in 1999, according to Creditsafe. Registration is free, and the agency writes that a casting agency may earn only from the commission on jobs. Besides the head office in Amsterdam it lists a second office in Groningen.
- Thea Meulenberg Casting was founded in 1980 by the casting director Thea Meulenberg and is now led by her son Laurens Meulenberg and her daughter-in-law Sevina Stapert Meulenberg. Its roster includes commercial models and actors, presenters, musicians, sports talent and hand models, and it says it does not accept every applicant.
- Moederannecasting says it has been operating since 1978; the present company, Moeder Anne Casting B.V., was incorporated in 1998, according to Creditsafe. Clients search its file by section: models, actors, families, children and seniors.
- Shootz groups its file into women, men, children, sports, hair, hand, catwalk, plus-size and family models, as well as actors, extras and hosts.
- ZAZA Casting has a file of talents aged 0 to 100: children, families and adults. It is run by two owners and casting directors, whom the site presents by their first names, Zala and Marlouke.
- Bullet Models says it has more than 16,000 profiles on its platform. The owner, Max Vos de Wael, is presented as a casting director, photographer and director with more than 30 years of experience.
- Models at Work was started in 2003 by Maartje van der Hoeven and calls itself a model agency for events and promotions. It has no public board of named models and offers models for photo shoots, collection presentations and fittings, as well as event hosts and promoters. The business magazine MT/Sprout described a difficult period at the company on 15 April 2014: a conflict with a business partner, the founder's burnout and a large part of the team resigning.
- VDM Agency: the company VDM Model Management B.V. was registered in 2010. What began as a model agency now calls itself a lifestyle and personality agency, and on its model bookings page it says it is not a traditional model agency.
- JR Model Management was founded on 1 January 2016 by John Ruitenbeek, a former model who worked in New York and Milan.
- Matt Faces was founded in 2015 by the former model Matthijs Brooimans as a boutique model and casting agency for fashion, commercial, sport and film projects.
- Amsterdam Model Agency was started in 2015 by Petra de Groot, who worked for many years as a commercial and fitting model herself. Its speciality is fitting models for clothing makers, and among its clients the site names WE Fashion, Josh V, Sissy Boy, Coca Cola and Volkswagen.
- APL Models was founded by Daphne Oosthuizen, who gives 31 January 2019 as its birth date. The website of the magazine LINDA. called it the most diverse model agency in the Netherlands on 10 March 2021 and wrote that it represents models with albinism, Down syndrome, vitiligo, alopecia and achondroplasia. Its media kit says it represents kids, men, women and non-binary people aged 4 to 80.
Kids agencies
Eight Amsterdam agencies have a kids board. Three of them work with children only:
- Hip4Kidz, on the Papaverweg in Noord. The campaigns page of its site lists work by its child models for Tommy Hilfiger (the spring and autumn 2024 collections), Karl Lagerfeld, New Balance, De Bijenkorf, Calvin Klein, Zara and Burger King. The site carries no text about the agency itself or its terms for parents.
- The Faces, founded in 2021, represents children from toddlers to 18. Registration is free, but the child must work for this agency only. Its general terms of March 2022 say a participant may not cancel within 48 hours before the work starts, and that one who does not appear or is late forfeits a fine of 100% of the agreed fee, except in cases of force majeure.
- Young Model Management represents children aged 0 to 16 from all over Europe and sells paid portfolio shoots, with the prices given in the fees section below.
Children are also on the books of Moederannecasting, which has separate registration forms for babies up to 1 year, children aged 1 to 3 and children aged 4 to 17, and of ZAZA Casting, Shootz, Bullet Models and APL Models. Near the city there are three more kids agencies with their own pages: Kidz Management in Diemen, The Kids in Nederhorst den Berg and La La Agency in De Hoef.
Curve and senior boards
Six Amsterdam agencies have a curve board: EGO'S Models, Innocence Models, New Generation Model Management, Shootz, Skins Model Management and Tulip Models. New Generation says all sizes from XS to XXXL are welcome. Inbetween Models was started for sizes between the standard and curve boards.
Five have a senior board. 2R Model Management, founded in 2017, says it was one of the first agencies in the Netherlands to focus on models of a classic age, and splits both women and men into a Main and a Silver board. The public broadcaster NOS quoted its owner Ryanne Dekker on 28 September 2026: demand for older models has clearly grown, she said, and the agency had received a request from Saint Laurent with no maximum age. EGO'S Models, founded in 1993, has boards for women, men, older models (Classics), plus size and hand models. Matt Faces, Moederannecasting and RICHESMGMT, with its Mature board, are the other three.
Agencies around Amsterdam
Several agencies that describe themselves as Amsterdam agencies have their office in a neighbouring place. In the catalogue each sits on the page of the place where its office is:
- Haarlem (5): Model Support, MULTA Casting and its sister company Ida Models, kleyn & groot Casting / The Seniors for models aged 50 and over, and Not Your Mother Agency, which calls itself NYMA Amsterdam.
- Diemen (2): Kidz Management for children up to 18 and 92 Model Management, which its own terms call a division of the same company.
- Hoofddorp (1): Elite Amsterdam.
- Lijnden (1): Euromodel, which gives 1967 as its founding year and presents itself as Euromodel Amsterdam.
- Badhoevedorp (1): KNOWN Model Management, with women, men, new faces, Curve Girls and Classic Men boards.
- Amstelveen (1): Antimodels, founded in 2002 by Sascha Tulp for people with a characteristic look.
- Ouderkerk aan de Amstel (1): Typies Casting, which has worked since 2007.

- Bussum (1): BRAD Models, a brand activation agency with a board of models.
For agencies in Rotterdam, The Hague, Utrecht and the rest of the country, see the Netherlands guide.
Fees and commission found in Amsterdam
These amounts come from the agencies' own websites and terms, as we found them in October 2026. We show them on the agency profiles as well, so that you can compare before you apply.
- Bullet Models: a paid "Online profile" for a one-off €19.95 that clients can see on the website, or a free "Offline profile" that is not shown and, in the agency's own words, gives a smaller chance of jobs. It also sells photo shoots for the profile at €169, €199 and €249 and a casting video for €29; the owner himself is the photographer.
- Moederannecasting: a one-off cost on registration of €30 for children, €30 for adults with their own photos and €50 for adults whose casting photos are made at the office. Updated photos in the studio cost €30.
- ZAZA Casting: a one-off €15 administration fee once the profile has been approved. Its general terms say it keeps a 20% mediation fee from the model's agreed fee and in addition charges the client a 20% agency fee. It does not ask for exclusivity.
- EGO'S Models: no registration fee, but placing a model's photos on the website costs €72.60 per calendar year, set off against the fee for the first job.
- Young Model Management: a 45-minute portfolio shoot costs €225 including VAT for the agency's models and €275 for children who are not with the agency. The price covers 5 photos, polaroids and a casting video; each extra photo costs €7.50.
- Dutch Casting Agency: registration is free; an optional photo shoot at the Amsterdam office costs €25.
- JR Model Management: accepted models book catwalk, photography and self-presentation training through the agency's platform. The page does not say whether the training is paid, so ask before you sign.
- Amsterdam Model Agency: its general terms say all rates are subject to a 20% agency commission and VAT.
- APL Models and Mix Models: a 20% agency commission charged to the client. The terms of Mix Models add that the agency pays a model only after the client has paid.
- Shootz, Thea Meulenberg Casting, Tulip Models and The Faces say that registering is free; Tulip Models adds that the interview is free and without obligation.
- Platform Agency answers the question about an application fee by saying that you should never have to pay to apply or sign to a modelling agency. A Models Amsterdam writes that modelling requires no personal investment besides time and effort.
What the law says about fees
Dutch law bans asking a job seeker for anything in return for job placement, but that rule is written for employment, and no official text says how it applies to self-employed models. The police give a practical test: a reliable agency advances the cost of the first photo session and settles it later against earnings. The details are in the Netherlands guide.
How to apply and what agencies ask for
Most Amsterdam fashion agencies ask for the same things: a few natural photos without make-up, your height and age, sent through a form or by email. A Models Amsterdam asks for two phone pictures, SUPER Model Management for three recent photos, Innocence Models and The Pack Models for a form with four photos, and The Troopers only for a selfie of your face taken outside in the shade. De Boekers has no online form: you email recent pictures, measurements and your age. What they publish on height, age and reply times is in the table.
| Agency | Height and age | Reply and limits |
|---|---|---|
| CODE Management | women of 1.74 to 1.80 m, aged 14 to 25 | online form with photos without make-up |
| Tulip Models | girls and women of 172 to 182 cm, aged 13 to 24, clothing size up to 34/36 | the interview is free and without obligation |
| Skins Model Management | 1.74 to 1.82 m, size 34/36 | no reply within 4 business days means no |
| Mix Models | girls from the age of 14 at 172 to 182 cm, boys at 184 to 191 cm | |
| Innocence Models | women from 1.74 m, men from 1.84 m | only people living in the EU; contact within 7 days if interested |
| Touché Models | women from 170 cm, from the age of 16 | men are sent to MaxMen |
| MaxMen | men of 184 to 191 cm, aged 15 to 35 | reply within a week if interested |
| Republic Men | men of 1.86 to 1.90 m, aged 15 or older | pictures by email |
| New Generation Model Management | women of 1.70 to 1.82 m, men of 1.80 to 1.92 m | sizes XS to XXXL |
| 2R Model Management | preferable minimum of 174 cm for women and 182 cm for men; age and measurements play no major role | contact within two weeks if interested |
| Amsterdam Model Agency | experienced models aged 22 and over; women of 1.70 to 1.80 m in sizes 36 to 52, men of 1.82 to 1.88 m in sizes 46 to 54 | |
| PARKER MGMT | photos by email; an answer in less than 3 working days if interested; the Netherlands and neighbouring countries only | |
| Moxie Models | only people based in the Netherlands; minors come to the meeting with a parent or guardian | |
| The Troopers | no reply within 12 hours means you were not selected | |
| APL Models | no height or size requirements; ages 4 to 80 |
Two more things are worth knowing. Platform Agency says it holds no open calls and organises an annual Model Day with workshops for its signed models. On 12 October 2026 the site of Inbetween Models said that online applications were closed and that new models were being scouted at an open scout event in Rotterdam on 10 October. How to take digitals and get ready is covered in model castings: how to prepare.
What work there is in Amsterdam
An agency told the evaluators of the Dutch health pledge for models that the market has two broad branches, the commercial one and the high fashion one, with a large middle group in between. The catalogue shows both in Amsterdam. On one side are the fashion agencies with women's, men's and new faces boards, whose models' work the sources above place at brands such as Gucci, Chanel, Balmain, Louis Vuitton and Givenchy. On the other are the casting agencies and the agencies for fitting, event and real-people work.
PVH Europe has its Amsterdam campus headquarters in the city: by its own description it is home to the global headquarters of Tommy Hilfiger and the European offices of Calvin Klein. Both brands are on the campaign list of the kids agency Hip4Kidz. In advertising you are also paid for usage rights, so before you confirm a job, ask where, for how long and in which countries the images will run.
Amsterdam Fashion Week
Amsterdam Fashion Week (AFW) calls itself the leading fashion platform in the Benelux. It was founded in 2004. In 2017 the Dutch stylist and entrepreneur Danie Bles acquired it from Telegraaf Media Groep and moved it from its January and July editions to a single September showcase, so it now takes place once a year. It has an advisory board and a public pop-up space called The HUB.
Amsterdam Fashion Week 2026: 1 to 5 September
The edition was held at venues across the city, with the opening show on Tuesday 1 September. Dates of other fashion weeks are in our fashion calendar.
| Edition | Dates | What is known |
|---|---|---|
| 2025 | 30 August to 4 September 2025 | dates from secondary sources; we did not confirm them on the organiser's site |
| 2026 | 1 to 5 September 2026 | the organiser's dates; venues across the city, opening show on Tuesday 1 September |
| 2027 | not announced | the organiser speaks of a full rollout of its sustainability requirements in September 2027, which points to a September edition but is not a date announcement |
The sustainability requirements were adopted from Copenhagen Fashion Week. The voluntary Model's Health Pledge, signed by agencies, clients and media, was launched at Amsterdam Fashion Week in 2016 and stopped in 2025.
What it means for a model
We have not confirmed which agencies supply the models for the shows, so we name none. If you want to walk in September, ask your agency before the summer whether it works with the designers on the schedule and when their castings are. Runway requirements are covered in the guide runway model.
How a Lithuanian model gets to Amsterdam
The safest route is through a mother agency in Lithuania. It sends Amsterdam agencies your digitals, measurements and a video, and once there is an offer it helps you weigh the terms: the commission, the exclusivity, the payment term and the costs. You can also apply directly, in the way the agency's own website describes, but read the limits first: Innocence Models takes applications from people living in the EU, PARKER MGMT from the Netherlands and neighbouring countries, and Moxie Models only from people based in the Netherlands.
As an EU citizen you need neither a visa nor a work permit: a valid passport or identity card is enough, and you do not register with the immigration service. For a stay of under four months you can get a citizen service number (BSN), the number used for tax and payroll, free of charge by registering as a non-resident at one of the 19 municipalities with an RNI desk. Tax, the difference between payroll and self-employed work and the papers for a longer stay are explained in the Netherlands guide.
We found no reliable public source for model apartment prices in Amsterdam or for who provides them, so we print no figures. Ask for the housing cost in writing, ask whether the agency will deduct it from your fees, and check it later on your statement.
Minors modeling in Amsterdam
Several Amsterdam fashion agencies take applicants under 18: Tulip Models from 13, CODE Management and Mix Models from 14, MaxMen and Republic Men from 15 and Touché Models from 16. They set conditions for it. The application form of Micha Models says people under 16 may submit their details only with the permission of a parent or guardian. Moxie Models invites minors to the meeting with a parent or guardian and writes that school always comes first. Platform Agency prefers models aged 18 or over and makes a parent or guardian mandatory at the intake of a minor.
Children under 13 may work on shoots and shows only with an exemption from the Dutch Labour Authority. The person who has authority over the child during the work applies for it, not the one who does the casting, and the hours are capped by age. The limits for each age group are in the Netherlands guide.
What to expect and what to check
- Look on the agency's website for its name, address, email and eight-digit KVK number. Fifteen Amsterdam agencies print no office address, so ask where you will meet and who will be there.
- If an agency asks for money for a profile, registration, photos or training, check the amount on its profile and compare it with others. Be wary of pressure to pay at once and of anyone who proposes a webcam test: these are signs of a modeling scam.
- Ask who pays the commission and on what it is calculated. In Amsterdam we found 20% charged to the client at some agencies and 20% kept from the model's fee at another.
- Ask when the money will come. One agency's terms say it pays only after the client has paid, and late payment by clients is a recurring complaint in the Dutch industry.
- Read the cancellation and no-show clauses. One kids agency sets a fine of 100% of the agreed fee.
- Before you sign an exclusive contract, read how it can be ended. Risky clauses are covered in the guide modeling contract, and every deduction should appear on your model statement.
